Loads of fresh, white snow greeted Casey and I for his senior session – and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Casey was gung ho to walk through the fluffy drifts, and we had a wonderful time. A senior at Loyola Sacred Heart in Missoula, Casey is going to go a long way. Such a nice young man and so much fun to work with.
Thanks for being a great sport, Casey! Have a fantastic senior year and good luck in college! It was such a pleasure making photos for you!
I met Graham and Jennie at their home for a super fun, incredibly adorable engagement session! We had been planning on more of an outdoor shoot, but, as you Montanans may have noticed, the temperatures outside have been a *wee* bit frigid. So, next best thing – baking cookies together (plus a few quick shots outside, too).
Thanks for being so much fun to work with, you two! (And for sharing some of your cookies – yum!) I can’t wait to photograph your wedding!
It was a bitterly cold day for a wedding, but the warmth and depth of Tenis and Svetla’s love was enough to warm everyone’s hearts, even if the lovely, crackling fire hadn’t been around. I had the absolute pleasure of photographing their intimate Double Arrow Lodge wedding. Friends and family stood with them as they said their vows to one another, eyes sparkling in the glow of the firelight, and everyone joined together for a delicious dinner full of laughter and happy toasts.
Tenis and Svetla – thank you for welcoming me to your wedding day – you are wonderful, kind people, and I wish you only love and happiness going forward in your lives together!
Ceremony and Reception location: Double Arrow Lodge, Seeley Lake, Montana
I woke up this morning, super excited to see snow on the ground. Even if it wasn’t much, I can’t help but become a little giddy over the first snow of the season. I was especially happy about it because I had been planning on doing a location scout for a photo session I have coming up. I adore road trips. Especially the snowy road trips (as long as it’s not *too* dangerous to drive). There’s something that’s just magical about driving amidst the tall, snow-laden pines…it’s almost as if you’re the only person in the world.
I stopped to scope out a spot I thought might be great for the shoot. And I became totally caught up in how serene, calm and quiet it was. No traffic sounds. No people. Just me. And the snow. And the occasional soft whistle of a bird’s wing through the sky. And the silence. Ohhh, the silence. It was so wonderful. I soaked it up, let it wash through my brain, and became inspired by the landscape. All the tones were muted and soft today. Cool grays and blues. The occasional brown to warm things up. I’m not a landscape photographer by any means, but I was feeling it today. And I thought I’d share what I saw.
And I’m throwing in this one, just because I found it kind of amusing. Polar bear dip anyone?
Katie and Colin not only love each other devotedly and wholeheartedly – they love the Griz, too. From the maroon bridesmaids’ dresses to a surprise entrance by Monte himself, their wedding spoke to their shared loves, in person and in football. Katie and Colin allowed each other a “first look” prior to their beautiful autumn ceremony, and gazed deeply into one another’s eyes, hands trembling from emotion, as they pledged their love during their wedding vows. Soon the party got started and, to everyone’s surprise, Monte joined in for a bit and got both the bride and groom and guests to get their groove on.
What a great night, you two! Thank you for providing me the pleasure of photographing your wedding day. And, this post wouldn’t be complete without a big, “Go Griz!” Here’s to a long life together!

I had myself a little impromptu photo shoot this morning with some hot-off-the-presses album samples I just received. These are just two examples from this new line I’m offering, and oh boy – they are gorgeous – down to every last detail.
The thick, lay-flat pages means you’ll get an uninterrupted photo spread. (No gutter down the middle!) These pages boast beautiful, true photo prints that are mounted to the lay-flat pages. And the cover options – oh my…they’re just simply stunning. From silks (like the one shown just below) to beautiful textures (like the second one shown) to leathers. (I’ll be getting a few more samples in soon to show off these options.)
You can choose from multiple sizes and page-lengths to fit your budget. (The samples shown below are 12×12 and 6×6 respectively.) To top it off, they’ll be delivered to you in a leather-bound, velvet-lined box for safekeeping. I’m just totally wowed by these albums and am so excited to offer this new line to you, my lovely friends! (These albums feature the trash the dress session I did with Jen and Kyle, and the portrait session I did with Ali. :) ) Check them out!
P.S. If you’d like to have one of these albums designed, printed, and in your hands before December 23rd, please let me know as soon as you can. (I can also give you more info on your investment when you contact me.) The deadline for me to have designs sent to print is November 22nd, and I’ll need a small amount of time to actually put the design together prior to the November 22nd deadline. Thanks! On to the photos!
On the docket: family sessions, engagement sessions, weddings and more!

Halloween is one of my absolute favorite, FAVORITE holidays. As a kid, my brother, friends and I would always get all decked out in crazy costumes (Pippi Longstocking, penguins, Cheshire cats, you name it), ready to brave the chilly autumn weather for that forbidden pleasure: CANDY.
I thought it would be fun to set up a photo booth of sorts for the trick-or-treaters stopping by my place last night. And we had a blast! Thanks to all the kiddos, teens and parents for having some photo fun!
And now…drum roll please…the photos!
P.S. I found a pair of nice gloves in my lawn last evening. If you’re missing a pair, please call or e-mail me with the description of the gloves to come claim them. :)
This was just a fun Halloween treat for the kids, but if you’d like a print of your child’s photo, please be in touch. All orders will need to be placed by the end of the month of November. Thank you!
