Missoula engagement “save the date” video

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

I’m so excited! I finally get to announce one of my newest options available to those of you out there who are planning on getting married – save the date engagement videos!  (And, hey, if you’re not getting married and you want one “just because,” that’s awesome, too!)

Take a peek at the one I created for Panika and Austin, whose photos have graced this blog in two previous posts (this post and this post). We had a lot of fun with this video and made it in between making engagement photos. I hope you enjoy it – feel free to share with friends. :) And remember, I’m based out of Montana, but I’ll travel, too. (And enjoy it!)

(P.S. the video might take a while to upload even though it’s only about 2 1/2 minutes long. To get it loading, press the play button, wait until you see the “bar” start to creep along and press pause to let it fully load before viewing.)  Also, I’d recommend watching it in HD, so be sure to click the HD button before loading if you’d like to watch it at a higher quality.)

Cheers!

-Kristine

It’s all about the love in this Missoula engagement session

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Alright ladies and gents! A few days ago I posted a sneak peek of Panika and Austin’s engagement session, and now I’d like to post a few more of my favorite photos from our lovely day in the sun. Talk about perfect weather for an engagement session – not too hot, not too cold, gorgeous light, a great couple. I could go on and on! But, on to the photos!

Sunny Missoula engagement session

Friday, April 16th, 2010

The sun has finally decided to stick around Missoula, and it even played nicely and came out for Panika and Austin’s engagement session the other day.  Panika and Austin are so wonderful – we had a great time making some very sweet images…I cannot wait to photograph their wedding this summer! I’m still editing photos, but I wanted to share a “sneak peek” of one of my favorites so far.  Take a look!  There’s just so much love in this kiss and their touch.  :)   Thanks Panika and Austin for being so awesome!

Missoula people (and beyond) – enter for a chance to win a FREE photo shoot and gift certificate to Big Dipper!

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Missoula people (and other folks within a reasonable distance of Missoula) – please enter for a chance to win your very own FREE 45-minute photo session with Kristine Paulsen Photography! But wait – there’s more! Along with your photo shoot, you’ll receive a gift certificate valued at $20 for Missoula’s very own, deliciously delectable Big Dipper Ice Cream, just in time for these warm months coming our way.  Total value for this contest: $120!  Your cost? Free!

Why am I doing this?  #1. I love photography.  #2.  I love meeting new people.  #3.  Ice cream rocks my socks off.  #4.  I want to spread the happiness of photography and ice cream!  Hey, why not?

You’re probably wondering how you can enter to win.  All you have to do is comment on this blog post with your favorite of all favorite places in and/or around Missoula to take photos, and then tell me why you love that spot so much.  (Feel free to list more spots if you’d like!)  Do you love Caras Park?  Do you have an absolute favorite spot in Pattee Canyon?  Does the Bitterroot River make you weak in the knees?  Tell me!  And be sure to tell your friends about this contest, too.  There needs to be at least 10 comments on the blog for the contest to take place.

I’ll randomly select a winner who will be notified via e-mail of their fabulous new prizes (free photo shoot and ice cream!).  We’ll set up a time to talk and meet in person to discuss the type of photo session you’d like (yep, folks – this photo session can be an engagement shoot, a senior/graduate session, a “just because” shoot with your best friend or maybe a portrait of your child or even your pet!).  And, we’ll also figure out where we want the photo session to take place.  (Please note: I don’t do traditional in-studio portraiture, but instead focus on on-location, dynamic shoots that make for unique and stunning images.  Take a look at some of my past posts in the blog archives or go to my web site to get a feel for my work.)

When I meet you for your photo session, you’ll receive your gift certificate to Big Dipper, we’ll start shooting and it’ll be a blast!

You’ll receive 5 free images for use on your own blog, Facebook, MySpace, e-mail, what-have-you, and additional (high-resolution) prints can be purchased through me at reasonable prices.  Trust me, these prints will make your jaw drop.  They’re gorgeous!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me – I’m happy to hear from you.

And now, tell your friends, and comment away!  (P.S. Your e-mail address won’t be shared.)  This contest will be active for a week – I’ll notify the happy winner Tuesday, April 6th!

Cheers,

-Kristine

Proposal photography is so sweet!

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Just a quick little bloglet posting right now because I’m just so darn happy!  I had the most wonderful opportunity to photograph Aaron and Melissa’s engagement – as it was happening!  Aaron drove from Idaho to Missoula to propose to Melissa – but not just in any old way.  He was dressed in his EMT uniform, holding a colorful flower and ring box, and waited for her to finish up with her last class of the day in the Education building at the University of Montana.

As she walked out the door, she saw him and was completely surprised and a little worried because she didn’t quite know what was going on.  But soon enough, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him – and she said Yes!!!  The reactions of the surrounding students were pretty awesome, too.  The guys were grinning and the girls were oohing and awwwing.  I don’t think there was a person there without a big old smile on their face.

This was just so, SO sweet and I am so happy I got to photograph this special moment between the two of them.  As Melissa said, “I’m in shock!  I can’t even remember what happened!”  Aaron’s response: “We have photos!”

If you’re reading this Melissa and Aaron, congratulations again!  I can’t stop smiling and am so very happy for you!

Check out some of my favorite photos below!

Cheers,

I’m excited to announce I designed a new photo book to showcase some of my favorite photos from the past quarter.  In addition to the electronic version you can “flip through” here, I’m also printing out a hard copy, in grand 10 x 8 full-color, full-bleed splendor, for folks to peruse during client visits.

To flip through the pages of the book below, just click on the arrow to the right or left of each page displayed. Click anywhere on the page to zoom in.  To zoom out, I believe you’d just need to hit your Escape key.  Feel free to share with friends!   (Please note: this is a low-quality preview.)I hope everyone had a delightful Thanksgiving!

Shiver Me Timbers! A Chilly Engagement Session!

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

It’s time to post a few of my favorite shots from Emilee and Ryan’s (extremely chilly!!!) engagement session.  Like I said before, you’d never be able to guess that the temperature was a bone-chilling 25 or so degrees.  What pros these two were!

Emilee got to see her edited photos for the first time today and I was lucky enough to be on the phone with her to hear her exclaim over them.  Definitely a great way to start the day – I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful it is to be able to make people so happy!

Also, just a quick mention – I had a blast photographing a Trash the Dress session for Lisa the other day.  She’s being very sweet and having the photos done as a one-year anniversary/birthday gift to her husband (which, to all you ladies out there, is a fantastic gift idea!).  Thank goodness the temps warmed up a bit.  We were even lucky enough to have the sun peek out from behind the clouds, too!  And, drum roll please, she braved the frigid waters of the Bitterroot River to get some stunning photos.  (And I got to wade in, too!  Brrr!)  Selected photos will be posted soon!

But again, enough of the chit chat.  Now to Emilee and Ryan’s photos!

Cheers!
-Kristine
