Boudoir – sensual, classy and celebrating all that is lovely about women, because we deserve it, don’t we?

I had such a wonderful time the other day photographing the brave, excited women who decided to step outside their comfort zone, take a leap of faith, and strip down to their skivvies, all in the name of giving themselves a little treat, as well as their husbands and boyfriends. :)

There are many different takes on boudoir photography – and my style of boudoir photography emphasizes classiness, sensuality and femininity. And these ladies definitely exuded all, plus some!

Thank you again to the women who participated – I had such a wonderful time, and I’m glad you all did, too. :) You are all, hands-down, stunning! Also, big props to Sunny for assisting me during the sessions, and for the lovely hair and makeup provided by Cristina and Ariel – fabulous in so many ways! Thank you, all!

I plan on offering another “boudoir marathon” in the future, so if this is something that interests you and you didn’t get to partake this time around or if you’d like to do this again, stay posted as I’ll announce openings again the blog, Facebook and Twitter. Keep in mind, these sessions make perrrrrfect Valentine’s Day gifts, as well lovely wedding day gifts to your partner-to-be. And now, on to a few sneak peeks from our sessions – enjoy!

Dates for 2012 weddings are nearly full, so if you’re interested in having me document your big day, please inquire soon as there are just a handful of dates still available. 2013 is also just starting to book, so if you’re planning a 2013 wedding, please feel free to inquire, too.)

Cheers!

Ali K. made her annual trek to Montana with her family to meet up with friends and hang out in the wonder that is Montana summer – and she got together with me for her annual “just because” portrait session, which is always such a blast! This year, we went for two distinct styles: sexy librarian, and rocker chic. Ali totally embodied both these looks and I can’t even begin to describe to you just how much laughter was involved. Suffice it to say, our cheeks hurt from smiling so much.

Also, on a more technical nerdy photographer note, I experimented with a slightly different processing style on these pics to really emulate the look of film. (Remember film? Those lovely long strips, developed and printed by hand in a dark room? *wistful sigh*) And we had a little fun painting with light towards the end of our shoot. So, with no further ado, I hope you enjoy these images as much as we had fun making them. :) And here’s to dreams of warm Montana summers….

Kristine, you have such an amazing ability! I LOVE these pics of Ali (especially the sexy librarian poses!) you can make anyone look glamorous (but then, it’s easier when you start with such a stunning canvas) Please let me know when you will be in WI next as I would love to have you do some engagement photography :)

A belated Happy Halloween to you all! It was another great night full of little goblins and ghouls ready for tricks, treats and pics at my Halloween Photo Spook Booth.

Halloween has always been a favorite holiday of mine, and last year I thought – what the hey – it’ll be fun to do this for all the little kids that come by my house on Halloween night. It was a great success last year, and such a fun time this year as well. I noticed there were a few returning trick-or-treaters from last year (I heard one boy shout, “This is the photo house! She’s a photo god!” Thank you, mystery boy – that made my night!) as well as lots of new kids armed with bags full of candy and chocolate-covered smiles.

Thanks so much for stopping by, showing me your awesome costumes, and taking a second to make some fun photos at the Halloween Photo Spook Booth. And now, on to the pictures! (This, of course, was just a fun Halloween treat for the kids, but if you’re a parent and would like a print of your child’s photo, please be in touch by either calling me at 406-240-3469 or by e-mailing me. All orders will need to be placed by the end of the month of November. Thank you!)

I met up with Kathy a bit ago to photograph her doing something she absolutely loves – yoga. She was excited to have me document the poses she’s been working on, and also to document her joy in practicing yoga.

I was so inspired watching her as she practiced in the sunny oasis of her back yard. Her joy and peace are both very present and so beautiful. Kathy teaches yoga, so if you’re interested, you should definitely take one of her classes. I’m hoping I can get myself signed up for one soon!

Kathy, thanks again for inviting me to photograph you doing what you love! What an enjoyable morning!

Siene and I had a blast the other day making some new images for her model comp cards which she was planning on distributing at a competition she was part of in Las Vegas. The light couldn’t have been more stunning and Siene couldn’t have been more gorgeous – what a fun shoot!

Siene definitely knows how to have fun with the camera and we definitely had a good time during our session. (We were even jokingly told by a police officer that we had better be careful or he’d have to cite us for stopping traffic. Haha!)

Siene – thanks again for working with me – you’re one beautiful lady and I hope you book all sorts of fun jobs, and the the competition in Vegas was a great experience for you! :)

I met up with Erika the other day to make a few headshots for her new business cards (you might remember Erika from the session I did last autumn with her and her daughter). Luckily for us, the weather was perfect and we were able to create some shiny new portraits for Erika’s new job.

Thanks again Erika! It was so nice to chat with you and see you again! Can’t wait for some more family portraits this summer! :)

Oceans and kites and sun and wind – there really might not be a better combination. I joined Kirk and Katie for a trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon, for their fun little “just because” session. The day was sublime – and Kirk and Katie definitely made the most of the wind and had fun flying their kite high into the blue sky. We also stumbled across some long, snake-like bull kelp (I think that’s what it’s called, but if not, please correct me!), which happened to be just perfect for creating ridiculously cool shapes when snapped. (Kirk and Katie happened to make some pretty sweet hearts.)

Thanks, you two!

What a sweet session! Such a breathtaking backdrop, and a mighty cute couple!

  • G&G Amy& John says:

What do you know that we don’t know? Great pictures. We still wonder what your introduction implied! Love, G&G

  • Monica – thanks! You’ve gotta visit the Oregon coast if you haven’t already – absolutely stunning! :)
G&G – Thanks! Nothing implied in these photos, though. Just a fun little “just because” session just because they wanted some nice photos of the two of them. :)

Today’s Wordless Wednesday post features a video I just put together for Peter the Pie Guy who’s become a regular at the Missoula Clark Fork River Market on Saturdays in the spring and summer selling his made-from-scratch pies.

I call this: { Peter the Pie Guy – an Ode to Betty Lou } Now, let’s let him do the talking! (Click the play button below to get it started. You may want to press play and then pause to let the video start loading. To watch in HD, click the HD button and follow the instructions.)

Ok, so I’m veering a bit from a traditional Wordless Wednesday post and instead want to give a shout out to LunaFest, which is taking place Wednesday, March 16th at the Wilma Theater in downtown Missoula to help benefit the YWCA of Missoula. What is LunaFest, you ask? To quote from the Missoula LunaFest’s website:

LUNAFEST was established in 2000 by LUNA, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, to simultaneously promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for women’s issues, and support worthy women’s nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

LUNAFEST is completely funded by LUNA and run by a small, dedicated group of LUNA employees. 100 percent of all proceeds are donated to charity – 15 percent to the Breast Cancer Fund and the remaining 85 percent of proceeds go directly back to hosting community organizations.

Over the years, as LUNAFEST has grown from a single annual event to more than 150 festivals each season, LUNA’s commitment to this worthwhile program has grown as well. We are continually inspired by the individual and collective efforts of women – and we are awed by the results. To date, LUNAFEST has raised over $570,000 for worthwhile women’s organizations, while raising hope and awareness for the stories of women everywhere.

They’ll be showing films, there will be a great auction to take advantage of some seriously awesome services provided by Missoula folks (did I mention you can bid on a portrait session by me? :) ), and you’ll get to walk away knowing your money has helped a very worthy cause.

So, yes, not much of a Wordless Wednesday post, but I’ll post a photo from a shoot I donated to the YWCA – you can add your own words to it. :)

I make a lot of photos that don’t actually end up on the blog. A lot of them are just for fun, some just don’t fit in the space I allot myself, and….oh, I don’t know. I get busy and just don’t post them. But, I’ve decided to remedy that by doing a Wordless Wednesday post each week.  I’ll be blogging one image or series of images, with little to no explanation needed. For the very first Worldess Wednesday, I’m sharing the following……
