Jen and Kyle were married at the Daly Mansion a few days prior to our Trash the Dress/Day After session. (Check out a sneak peek of their wedding photos.) We met up, ready to get a little bit dirty, and boy did we have fun making some beautiful images! The light was to-die-for, the water was pleasantly warm (Jen braved it and got her dress wet – not a requirement, by the way, ladies
), and we just had an all out good time. As Jen said, “I don’t know why everyone doesn’t do this! It’s so FUN and not stressful at all!” (Thanks Jen! I couldn’t have said it better myself!)
Speaking of which, I’ll let the photos do the talking. Check them out! And remember, ladies and gents, a session like this makes for amazing anniversary gifts, especially for your one-year, which is traditionally a paper gift.

On the docket – a super cool photo project announcement that all Montanans can participate in!
Cheers!

Kate and I finally got to make some photos after having to reschedule her session due to a rather gnarly thunderstorm last week. She rocked the session, braved some sneaky sprinklers, and had fun playing around in the light with me. Her mom and brother accompanied her as well – her brother providing comic relief as needed. Our session was absolutely lovely, Kate’s smile was radiant and we all got in some good laughs, too.
Congratulations on entering your senior year, Kate! Have a blast this year! It was so nice to meet you and your mom and brother!

On the docket: a deliciously beautiful wedding and a super stunning trash the dress/day after session! Stay posted!
Cheers!

You may remember a few weeks back that Ali also had a “trash the corset” boudoir session with me back in Wisconsin. Just this past week she happened to be in Montana visiting family friends in Hamilton, so she scheduled another session with me – this time a “just because” session….because….well…she deserves it! Plus, she wanted to have some pictures in her pretty lace dress. And oh, what a session we had! We zipped back and forth to various locales to make some stellar images, and even managed to get our photos in before a walloping giant of a thunderstorm lumbered through Missoula.
But enough chit-chat! To the photos!

On the docket: a gorgeous Daly mansion wedding, a senior session and a trash-the-dress! Stay posted!

The other day I had the pleasure of photographing Katie’s senior photos for her final year at Sentinel High School – what a great session we had! Her very lovely parents were wary of how their presence might influence her session, so we said our hellos, got the details lined out, and they stayed near but were out of sight for the session. Katie’s older sister, Rachel, acted as a most-excellent stylist and wardrobe consultant throughout the entire session, which was wonderful! The results? We had such a pleasant session and enjoyed some good laughs to boot. Katie is a big fan of dragons, so we started out at Dragon’s Hollow before taking advantage of the natural scenery nearby and superb light.
Thanks again Katie (and family)! I hope you have a wonderful senior year! Congrats in advance!

On the docket: a beautiful just-because session and a gorgeous mansion wedding! Stay posted!
Cheers!

I decided to swing by for the opening day at the Western Montana Fair since my mom was in town visiting. She and I are big fans of cute animals, and we happened to find some super adorable ones at the fair. There were chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits, goats, llamas, bulls – you name it. I’m always impressed by the kids (and adults) who take such good care of their animals. This young man with the rabbit was no exception. His rabbit, R.J., was getting all sorts of pets and hugs from his youthful owner. He was kind enough to let me take some photos of him with his rabbit (who is a lion head breed, by the way), and to tell me a bit about how his day showing him had gone. (R.J. did pretty well!)
Our next visit was the goats, and….I think I kind of love goats. They’re so darn cute! Take a look at those little guys – they were so inquisitive and curious about my camera. Actually, they probably wanted to eat it – I was laughing so hard taking their pictures. So enjoyable!
But, here I am getting chatty again – enjoy the images! P.S. The last image is of two goats, not a two-headed goat. It’s the fair not the circus.

On the docket: senior portrait sessions (do you have yours booked yet?) and another gorgeous wedding! Stay tuned my friends!
Cheers!

While hopping around the country last week, I had another photo session in Wisconsin – this time for boudoir photography. For those of you who are unfamiliar with boudoir, it’s defined as: “a woman’s dressing room, bedroom, or private sitting room,” and is pronounced “boo-dwar” though with a little more French finesse. Boudoir photography is usually very sensual and intimate. I like to keep my boudoir sessions classy as opposed to raunchy (really not a fan of raunchy – and in this case, I think less does NOT always equal more, at least in clothing terms).
Anyway…..knowing that we’d be near a river, I suggested to Ali that we get adventurous and make some photos in the water as well as on land – and tah dah! – trash the corset was born! Ali was fantastic in front of the camera, and we had a lot of laughs. I think it’s probably easier and less awkward to be photographed in your dainties by a fellow female than it would be a male (though this is just my assumption), mostly because: 1. You won’t have to worry about me being inappropriate or hitting on you. And 2. I’m a woman, too – so I’d like to think I know what makes ladies feel pretty!
But, again…I’m being overly chatty – onward to the photos! Ali has been ever so wonderful in letting me share these intimate portraits, and I’m so, so glad – because she’s stunning! (Also, fair warning, for those of you who are viewing this at work, there are photos of a woman in underthings, though they’re not anything more risque than a standard one-piece swimsuit.)
Oh, and P.S. Boudoir photography makes for stellar wedding day gifts to your special someone and also works beautifully as an anniversary present!

On the docket: back-to-back weddings this weekend! One in a gorgeous (did I mention GORGEOUS?) mountain meadow in Corvallis, and the other in Great Falls at Boulder Ridge Lodge – and the bride’s horse is guest-starring! I’m so looking forward to both – can’t wait to share some sneak peeks!
Cheers!

As you may have noticed, I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog lately. But it’s because I’ve been busy! I jetted off to northern Wisconsin last week for a working vacation and also to attend a high school reunion. (I’m not going to tell you which one – you’ll have to guess.
)
During my quick trip I was lucky enough to photograph some super awesome portrait sessions – and this was one of them!
Monica and Shawn have been married for 5 years – happy anniversary, you two! They weren’t entirely happy with the photos from their wedding (according to Monica, the woman wasn’t as good as she had touted), so they wanted to get some nice photos done for their anniversary. And we had a great time! It was a bit cloudy, and the humidity was palpable (we were all slightly sticky), but what a great session!
Monica and Shawn were also super creative, too, and brought along a picnic basket and blanket for some of the photos – and of course a few delicious cherries to feed one another.
But here I am getting chatty – let’s get to the photos! Thanks again, you two! I’m so happy we were able to do this while I was in town. See you in Utah!

On the docket: a sultry, steamy boudoir session. You won’t want to miss it!
Cheers!

Is there anything better than a happy, smiling, giggling child? I’m not sure there is. It’s magical, intoxicating and the essence of everything that is pure and good. And there was a LOT of happiness, smiling and giggling during my session with Christy, Alan and their three children, Kaely, Wynter and Karu.
We all had a wonderful time – the kids enjoyed having little races with one another and showed me some of their best dance moves and subsequent grins. They even doled out a few hugs and high fives!
I love editing photos and after having gone through to find my selects, realizing my face hurts because I’ve been grinning the entire time. This was one of those sessions. And here’s what kept making me smile! Thanks again! I really, truly had a great time meeting you all and photographing your family! Enjoy!

Cheers,
-Kristine

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph Jason and Tonya’s family – it was a gorgeous evening…the sun was golden and the air was warm. Everyone had ice cream on the brain, especially their boys who had a great time saying “ICE CREAM!” Another favorite word: “KaCHOW!” Super cute!
The boys had great time racing their toy cars to me and we all had a nice little session of high-fives for the drivers.
Thanks again, all of you! It was great to meet you and make some photos of your family!

Cheers,
-Kristine

First off, happy Fourth of July! I hope you’re all celebrating safely and having a great day! Make your day a little greater by checking out the photos of these adorable, ADORABLE puppies!
I had the pleasure of photographing these 7-week-old Yorkshire terrier puppies last week, along with their lovely owners. I’ve got to hand it to them – because of all the rain we’ve been having the mosquitoes were out in full force and they didn’t complain once. Seriously folks. These mosquitoes weren’t like anything you’ve ever seen. I know we all went home with some war wounds from our photo session (and I know that the word “some” is probably an understatement for all of us!), but they were all troopers – thank you for being so awesome!!!
And the puppies were just adorable, of course. Little velvet ears, tiny button noses, sweet little faces. I could go on and on. And I will. For one second, I promise. Highlights of our session: puppies jumping out of the wagon (CUTE!), puppies running (SUPER CUTE!), puppies trying to eat flowers (MAKE-YOUR-HEART-MELT-CUTE!), puppies being sleeeeeepy from all the fun (CUTE OVERLOAD)!
But I’ll stop with the chitchat – here are the photos!

Stay posted for more family and kid photos coming soon!
Cheers,
-Kristine
