Boudoir – sensual, classy and celebrating all that is lovely about women, because we deserve it, don’t we?

I had such a wonderful time the other day photographing the brave, excited women who decided to step outside their comfort zone, take a leap of faith, and strip down to their skivvies, all in the name of giving themselves a little treat, as well as their husbands and boyfriends. :)

There are many different takes on boudoir photography – and my style of boudoir photography emphasizes classiness, sensuality and femininity. And these ladies definitely exuded all, plus some!

Thank you again to the women who participated – I had such a wonderful time, and I’m glad you all did, too. :) You are all, hands-down, stunning! Also, big props to Sunny for assisting me during the sessions, and for the lovely hair and makeup provided by Cristina and Ariel – fabulous in so many ways! Thank you, all!

I plan on offering another “boudoir marathon” in the future, so if this is something that interests you and you didn’t get to partake this time around or if you’d like to do this again, stay posted as I’ll announce openings again the blog, Facebook and Twitter. Keep in mind, these sessions make perrrrrfect Valentine’s Day gifts, as well lovely wedding day gifts to your partner-to-be. And now, on to a few sneak peeks from our sessions – enjoy!

On the docket: engagement sessions! Stay tuned! (P.S. Dates for 2012 weddings are nearly full, so if you’re interested in having me document your big day, please inquire soon as there are just a handful of dates still available. 2013 is also just starting to book, so if you’re planning a 2013 wedding, please feel free to inquire, too.)

Cheers!

Maddy and Colin are such a delightful couple, and we had a great time making some super fun images during their wintry Missoula engagement session. Maddy is a big time coffee fan, so we stopped off to grab a few cups before embarking on our walkabout around the University of Montana where they both met. Maddy and Colin are so meant for each other – the way they look at one another, the way their eyes sparkle (yep, Colin, your eyes did sparkle!), and most importantly, how they make each other laugh – even when in the midst of a snowball fight.

Thank you so much, you two, for taking time out of your day to have some fun in the snow with me! I had a blast and seriously can’t wait until your wedding – it’s going to be an amazing day!

I love my family dearly. Which is a huge understatement. They mean so much to me, especially since we are kind of scattered all across the U.S. So when I get to spend time with them, I adore it.

I drove to Spokane to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with my grandparents and uncle, and it was absolutely delightful. I spoiled them with pumpkin pies I made, received wonderful warm hugs and got to cook with grandma (which involved a hilarious turn at trying to figure out how to flatten a duck – long story – it involved a couple YouTube videos and resulted in one funny-looking duck!). Cooking with Grandma is especially dear to me since the last time I’ve really cooked with her must have been when I was eight or nine. And of course, sitting around the table, we got to regale one another with some pretty amusing stories.

These are just a few portraits from my visit – they mean so much to me…and I really didn’t take nearly as many photos as I should have. Quite honestly, I don’t take nearly as many personal photos as I should and that’s something I’d like to fix in 2012. I hope you do too.    (P.S. My apologies for the less-than-flattering self portrait. My arms are only so long.) ;)

What will people think that we are trying to feed you for Thanksgiving dinner! It sure doesn’t look like a typical Turkey dinner! But we sure loved having you here and sharing the rushed up dinner! G

Ali K. made her annual trek to Montana with her family to meet up with friends and hang out in the wonder that is Montana summer – and she got together with me for her annual “just because” portrait session, which is always such a blast! This year, we went for two distinct styles: sexy librarian, and rocker chic. Ali totally embodied both these looks and I can’t even begin to describe to you just how much laughter was involved. Suffice it to say, our cheeks hurt from smiling so much.

Also, on a more technical nerdy photographer note, I experimented with a slightly different processing style on these pics to really emulate the look of film. (Remember film? Those lovely long strips, developed and printed by hand in a dark room? *wistful sigh*) And we had a little fun painting with light towards the end of our shoot. So, with no further ado, I hope you enjoy these images as much as we had fun making them. :) And here’s to dreams of warm Montana summers….

Kristine, you have such an amazing ability! I LOVE these pics of Ali (especially the sexy librarian poses!) you can make anyone look glamorous (but then, it’s easier when you start with such a stunning canvas) Please let me know when you will be in WI next as I would love to have you do some engagement photography :)

A belated Happy Halloween to you all! It was another great night full of little goblins and ghouls ready for tricks, treats and pics at my Halloween Photo Spook Booth.

Halloween has always been a favorite holiday of mine, and last year I thought – what the hey – it’ll be fun to do this for all the little kids that come by my house on Halloween night. It was a great success last year, and such a fun time this year as well. I noticed there were a few returning trick-or-treaters from last year (I heard one boy shout, “This is the photo house! She’s a photo god!” Thank you, mystery boy – that made my night!) as well as lots of new kids armed with bags full of candy and chocolate-covered smiles.

Thanks so much for stopping by, showing me your awesome costumes, and taking a second to make some fun photos at the Halloween Photo Spook Booth. And now, on to the pictures! (This, of course, was just a fun Halloween treat for the kids, but if you’re a parent and would like a print of your child’s photo, please be in touch by either calling me at 406-240-3469 or by e-mailing me. All orders will need to be placed by the end of the month of November. Thank you!)

It was such a pleasure meeting up with the Opitz family the other day for their sweet little family session in the woods. Their 16-month-old son, Taiga, had a great time showing off his dance moves, demonstrating his best baby stomping form, educating us on the fine art of picking up the very best sticks and rocks, and, to top it off, wow-ing us with his running skills and subsequent adorable grins.

What an absolutely wonderful session! Thank you so much for inviting me to document your beautiful family! And now, on to the photos!

It was a bit of a rainy, overcast day for Katherine and Mike’s Missoula “rock the dress” session, but that didn’t dampen anybody’s spirits, least of all their dog, Buck, who was happy to jump into the river, and come bounding towards Katherine and Mike for wet “hello’s!”

Katherine very much rocked her dress – we had a wonderful time strolling through the tall grasses, drinking in the beauty that is autumn in Missoula, and making some fun images in the rain.

We were joking that Katherine and Mike have hit almost all of the seasons during their photography with me – winter/spring for their engagement session, summer for their gorgeous ranch wedding west of Missoula, and now autumn for their rock the dress session.

As always, you two, what a wonderful time! Thank you so much for joining me on a damp day – it really paid off ! :) On to the photos!

It was so nice to meet up with Marcus and Annie the other day to take advantage of this beautiful autumn weather and vibrant colors, and make some sweet images of the two of them for their Missoula engagement session. After days of rain, the dry spell and sun were a nice break!

Marcus and Annie have been dating for nine years, so they are quite excited to be planning their wedding for this coming June in Seeley Lake.

Thanks again, you two! It was so nice to hang out with you a bit and make some lovely photos of you both! I cannot wait to photograph your wedding this summer! :)

Laughter and giggles were in abundance during my autumn photo session with the Shepard family. We had such a great time making some family portraits for them, and the kiddos were terrific sports and had a blast in front of the camera.

Thank you for such a fun session – you’ve got an awesome family! :)

I met up with Kathy a bit ago to photograph her doing something she absolutely loves – yoga. She was excited to have me document the poses she’s been working on, and also to document her joy in practicing yoga.

I was so inspired watching her as she practiced in the sunny oasis of her back yard. Her joy and peace are both very present and so beautiful. Kathy teaches yoga, so if you’re interested, you should definitely take one of her classes. I’m hoping I can get myself signed up for one soon!

Kathy, thanks again for inviting me to photograph you doing what you love! What an enjoyable morning!
