Such a fantastic day for Shea’s senior session – we had beautiful blue skies and warm sun for our outdoor shoot. Shea is a senior at Florence-Carlton High School, and has great aspirations for his life after graduation. He’s going to college to study perhaps neurobiology, perhaps physics – the world is his oyster. And this young man is going to go places – I can just feel it!

Thank you so much, Shea, for such a great session! I truly mean it when I say you’re going places – you’ve got a great attitude and I know you’ll excel in your college pursuits. All the best to you in your final few months as a senior!

Can you believe that 2011 is a matter of hours away? I can’t really wrap my mind around it – 2010 flew by in a flurry of wonderful experiences, including so many memorable photo sessions and weddings. I wouldn’t be as happy with life and my work if it weren’t for all of my fantastic clients (seriously, you all are WONDERFUL), business friends and supporters of my work. I’m always so grateful and humbled that you choose me to document the moments in your lives – it means more to me than you may know.

To celebrate the awesomeness that is YOU, I put together a collage of some of my favorite images from 2010 – can you find yourself or friends?

Happy, happy New Year!

Loads of fresh, white snow greeted Casey and I for his senior session – and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Casey was gung ho to walk through the fluffy drifts, and we had a wonderful time. A senior at Loyola Sacred Heart in Missoula, Casey is going to go a long way. Such a nice young man and so much fun to work with.

Thanks for being a great sport, Casey! Have a fantastic senior year and good luck in college! It was such a pleasure making photos for you!

Sarah, a senior at Darby High School in Darby, Montana, met up with me in Stevensville for her lovely senior photo session. The day couldn’t have been more perfect – golden evening light, leaves lazily twirling down from the trees, and warm temps. We strolled through the woods and had a great time making some truly beautiful images of Sarah, who is an absolute natural in front of the camera.

Sarah, it was so great to meet you and your mom, and I hope you have a wonderful senior year!

Sara, a senior at Sentinel High School in Missoula, has big dreams and hopes to venture abroad to either Italy or South America. So we decided an urban feel would fit well with her desire to travel. Sara was so great to work with and was accompanied by her little sister, Madi, who was a most excellent personal assistant, fielding text messages for her older sister.

Thanks Sara for being such a good sport! I had a wonderful time during our session and really enjoyed meeting you and Madi. I wish you all the best in your senior year, and hope you get to travel the globe a bit!

I was so happy to get home from my Seattle trip and see my gorgeous daughter Saras’ Senior pictures. I absolutely love them all!!! Thanks Kristine!! You are a fantastic photographer. Only 7 more years and my youngest daughter Madi will also have her senior pics taken by you. Hopefully you are still around the area, or I might have to travel to where You are..:) Thanks again from the bottom of my heart!!

  • Hi Jean! Thank you SO much for your wonderful words! I’m so glad you loved Sara’s photos – we really had a good time. She’s a beautiful, smart girl and will go far! Hopefully I’ll still be in Missoula, too, in 7 years – I’d love to photograph Madi’s photos as well! :)

Kate and I finally got to make some photos after having to reschedule her session due to a rather gnarly thunderstorm last week. She rocked the session, braved some sneaky sprinklers, and had fun playing around in the light with me. Her mom and brother accompanied her as well – her brother providing comic relief as needed. Our session was absolutely lovely, Kate’s smile was radiant and we all got in some good laughs, too.

Congratulations on entering your senior year, Kate! Have a blast this year! It was so nice to meet you and your mom and brother!

The other day I had the pleasure of photographing Katie’s senior photos for her final  year at Sentinel High School – what a great session we had! Her very lovely parents were wary of how their presence might influence her session, so we said our hellos, got the details lined out, and they stayed near but were out of sight for the session. Katie’s older sister, Rachel, acted as a most-excellent stylist and wardrobe consultant throughout the entire session, which was wonderful! The results? We had such a pleasant session and enjoyed some good laughs to boot. Katie is a big fan of dragons, so we started out at Dragon’s Hollow before taking advantage of the natural scenery nearby and superb light.

Thanks again Katie (and family)! I hope you have a wonderful senior year! Congrats in advance!

It has been a while since I shot these photos of a group of friends (it was way back in September! agh!), and I’ve been meaning to post some of my favorites, and I’m just now finally getting around to it.  I hope you like them!  We all had so much fun on our walkabout session – just going from spot to spot and soaking up the beeeeeautiful light.

Also, before I post those gems, I just wanted to mention that I had a great shoot for the Century Council this morning.  Today kicked off the state of Montana’s “Cops In Shops,” and I was there to photograph Attorney General Steve Bullock, Director Jim Lynch of the Montana Department of Transportation, Alcohol Education Coordinator Lisa Scates of the Mt. Department of Revenue and Missoula Chief of Police Mark Muir. We even managed to squeeze in some photo ops from a few other members of the Missoula police force and had a great time doing it.  Some of those photos may even run as billboards!  Super exciting!  I’ll keep you posted on that.

Also, I’m still waiting to hear about when the Chronicle of Higher Education is running the article for which I shot photos – I’ll let you know when it’s up!

And now – the long awaited photos from Sepetember – ohhhh, how I adore the light…mmmm.

Cheers!

I just finished editing the photos from Amanda’s senior photo shoot that I blogged about previously.  In case you haven’t read that post, the shoot was so much fun, and Amanda was rocking the photos!  And, we completely lucked out on weather.  Yay for some sun!

Anyway, the photos will speak for themselves, so I’ll stop with the chatting.  Check them out!

Cheers,

October 6, 2009

What a beautiful day for some senior portraits downtown!  I met up this evening with Amanda to photograph her senior portraits – and what a fun walkabout session it was!  It was so nice to make photographs for such a nice young lady – and I can’t wait (as I’m sure she can’t wait) to see the resulting images!  I’ll post them soon!

Cheers,
-Kristine
