Carrie and Dugan got married on a whim about two years ago at the courthouse, but they have always wanted to celebrate their vows and marriage with their closest friends and family, so their Fort Missoula vow celebration was a perfect way to bring everyone together to share in the joy and happiness of their marriage, and exchange their vows in front of their loved ones in a meaningful way.
And their day couldn’t have been more beautiful or more perfectly them! It was warm and sunny and everyone got to enjoy the surrounding mountains as a backdrop to Carrie and Dugan’s vows. Before they exchanged their rings, the rings were passed around to everyone in attendance, each of whom got to personally wish Carrie and Dugan well and share some touching sentiments, smiles and laughs. Each member of the bridal party participated in a hand-fasting ceremony, the two spoke their vows, and soon, they got to seal it all with a kiss to the cheers of their family and friends.
Afterwards we had a blast making images of their bridal party, and then stole away to create some fun images of just Carrie and Dugan, since, as they told me from our first meeting, they just don’t have many nice photos of the two of them. They are just so sweet together, so very clearly in love – and I’ve got to say, the way they laugh with one another is pure perfection!
Soon after we rejoined their shindig where everyone had a great time playing various board games, chit-chatting with one another, and dining on some tasty BBQ from Notorious PIG. Some folks began probably one of the most epic games of jenga I’ve ever witnessed, and by the time it ended they had an entire crowd cheering them on.
Before long it was time to cut the beautiful cake (from Black Cat Bake Shop), which had everyone laughing and smiling as Carrie and Dugan had a little fun (wait a second – a lot of fun) sharing their cake slice with one another.
Carrie and Dugan – thank you again for inviting me to capture such a wonderful, love-and-happiness-filled day for you! Your friends and family were such a treat to meet, and I absolutely loved how your day was such a reflection of the two of you and your joy together! Here’s to you both, and a life continually filled with this kind of happiness!
