It was so nice to swing by Tracey and Will's place the other day to photograph their sweet little nine-day-old baby boy, Liam. He was an absolute dream - fluffy hair, wide eyes (he didn't want to sleep on the job during his modeling gig!), and such darling little toes and fingers - I could go on and on. It was so fun to see Tracey and Will so smitten with their little one, and I had such a great time documenting their absolute adoration of their beautiful baby boy. But the photos speak volumes, so I'll pipe down and let you take a peek for yourselves. Just a quick warning: you may melt. I totally did. Congratulations again on your ...
Wintertime Rambles – {Megan and Jeremy’s Missoula “Engagement” + Family Session}
A few days after Christmas I had the pleasure of getting together with Megan and Jeremy and their family since they were all together in Missoula for the holidays. It was such a treat to see everyone again, and this time around I even got to meet Megan and Jeremy's dog, Grafton (who is the cutest, fuzziest dude ever!). The backstory about their "engagement" session is that I photographed Megan and Jeremy's wedding in 2012 (so pretty!), but we had to delay their engagement session until a later date since they live more than a hop and a skip away from Missoula. So, a little over a year later we had a great time making photos of these two - ...
Sunshine and Snow – {The Campbell & Bravard Families’ Missoula Portraits}
It was so nice to meet up with the Campbell and Bravard families a few days after Christmas - and we even lucked out with a sunny winter wonderland to traipse through as we made our photos. It was chilly, but oh so worth it! Chase and Cole were such good sports about dealing with the cold, and their smiles could've warmed anybody watching. Thank you again, guys! It was so nice to meet you all and a treat to help out with a wonderfully thoughtful Christmas gift as well! On the docket: portraits! Don't miss them! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Snowflakes Keep Falling – {Caden’s Class of 2014 Missoula Senior Pictures}
Caden and I met up on a FRIGID...and I'm talking FRIGID - maybe all of 7 degrees...winter day to make his Hamilton High School senior portraits. Even though it was so cold, it couldn't have been a more beautiful day. Snowflakes were falling all around us, and we managed to have a pretty darn good time even though we were slowly turning into icicles. Caden did a fantastic job despite the temps (and despite me inadvertently cracking him up during our "serious" shots). As we walked around, he told me that he really enjoys playing his guitar (and I got to hear a few notes too - they sounded great!), and especially likes fishing. When asked ...
Father and Sons – {The Sandberg Family’s Wintry Photo Session}
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Mike, Cole and Josiah the other day to photograph their family session that they won from the University of Montana's Easter Eggstravaganza this past spring. And, even though it was SOOOO cold, we had such a nice time tromping about through the fresh snow. The boys are huge fans of the Green Bay Packers (woo hoo Wisconsin shout out!), and they even showed off to me their best, fiercest game day faces. (I'm pretty sure I heard some Vikings' knees a-knockin' over yonder.) Thanks again, guys, for a fun session! And kudos to you again for braving the cold! I hope that hot chocolate was warm and tasty. ...
Listen to your gut – {A Personal Post}
I have hemmed and hawed about writing this post. But in the end, I don't think I can sit back and keep quiet because I am deeply, deeply upset and disgusted by what has happened in our photography community in Missoula. I'm shaking as I write this. That's how upset I am. I think it's imperative that people are made aware of what has happened so they can make their own informed decisions, and also I want to speak to some issues this has brought up. What am I talking about? If you missed the article in the Missoulian, please go here to read it. It is in regard to another "photographer" (I put that in quotes, because in no way should he EVER ...
Blue Skies and Sunny Smiles – {The Jones Family’s Stevensville, Montana Portraits}
I simply adore being able to meet the newest additions to my couples' families. To have the opportunity to photograph their new family together is such a treat and such an honor, and I got to do just that with Kim, Randy and their 9-month-old daughter Reata. It's hard to believe that not too long ago we were making engagement photos and wedding photos. Crazy how time flies! It was a bit of a chilly afternoon for our shoot, but the sun was on our side and kept us warm as we ventured from spot to spot. And Reata - what a little cutie pie! She was great, and had a blast "driving" Randy's truck from location to location as well. There is so ...
A Walk through the Woods – {The Means Family’s Missoula Photo Session}
I got together with the Means family a few days ago to make some photos of the four of them together, and of just Kira and Logan as well. I'm always so happy when families make the time to do this because it's true - we all get busy with our lives and before we know it, one kid is on one side of the country, and another kid is off on an adventure abroad and poof! It becomes challenging to get everyone together in the same place at the same time. We ended up getting to shoot on a quintessentially gorgeous Montana morning - there was a light dusting of snow on the trees and the temps were low, but not so low that we were freezing cold. And, ...
Woodsy Beauty – {Lacey’s Missoula Model Session}
Lacey and I met up the other day for her model session, all the while crossing our fingers the skies didn't open and start pouring on us. It was definitely chilly, but the weather cooperated and didn't saddle us with any raindrops. Lacey was great to work with, and I was excited that we also had wind to play with. That was certainly cold, but oh-so-worth-it. Thanks Lacey! Looking forward to working with you again in the future. :) On the docket: portraits! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Perfect Autumn Days – {Raina and Danny’s Missoula Engagement Session}
This year Missoula has experienced an exceptionally beautiful autumn - and luckily Raina, Danny and I got to take advantage of all the beautiful colors before the wind swept the leaves off the trees a few days later. We walked around downtown, laughing and chatting, and laughing some more. Giggling, they told me the story of how they met when Raina swiped one of Danny's chicken strips - the rest is history. :) These two are just so utterly in love, and I can tell we're going to have an absolute blast at their wedding next year. Here's to you two, Raina and Danny! And many, many chicken strips to share. ;) On the ...
