When Annie and I first started talking about me being the photographer for her and Josh's wedding, it was SO great to find out that she's from Wisconsin - because, though I was born in Montana and have spent nearly half my life here, I grew up in Wisconsin and have a special fondness for it in my heart. And fellow Wisconsin people are just kind of awesome. Doncha know. (Sorry - couldn't resist.) I met up with her and Josh at the bed and breakfast they are caretakers of in Darby (such a sweet place!), and Montana was pulling out all the stops for us - blue skies, colorful autumn leaves, golden light....I could go on and on. After ...
An October Kind of Love – {Jennifer and Brian’s Spokane Wedding at the Roberts Mansion}
There is something decidedly romantic about an autumn wedding - especially when it takes place at a gorgeous mansion surrounded by colorful foliage, and really celebrates an intimate ceremony. When I met up with Jennifer and Brian at the Roberts Mansion in Spokane, Washington, sun streamed in through the stained glass windows as Jennifer readied herself to see her groom. And as she stepped out of the mansion doors and he saw her for the first time, his eyes lit up and a big smile spread across his face. Their ceremony was thoughtful, simple and beautiful. The two held each other's hands and looked into one another's eyes as they ...
A Season for Smiles – {The Braun Family’s Missoula Portraits}
Cute kids, golden leaves, happy smiles - that's about the definition of perfection, isn't it? Maddy, Ali, Nick, Rachel and even Sunny the dog, and I all had a great time on a beautiful autumn afternoon making some photos of them together and individual portraits as well. We giggled, we chit chatted, and we definitely laughed. Great job, you guys! Keep those beautiful smiles and laughter coming! :) On the docket: portraits, one last wedding for the year, and more portraits! Don't miss out! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Majestic Maples and Sweet Smiles – {Betsy and Cameron’s Missoula Engagement Session}
As October is wont to do sometimes, the skies threatened rain on Betsy and Cameron's engagement session, but we decided to brave it anyway, and lucky us - the rain stayed away and treated us to some exceptionally beautiful light - only challenged, however, by the absolute happiness radiating from Betsy and Cameron as they looked at one another. Seriously - these two love each other. L. O. V. E. Love. We had so much fun as we trekked about in the woods, laughing our heads off the entire time, and exclaiming at how we are so lucky to live in such a naturally gorgeous place. And I feel pretty darn lucky I get to work with couples as ...
Brown-Eyed Girl – {Kally’s Missoula Senior Pictures}
Kally and I had such a nice time walking and talking and making photos for her Class of 2014 senior pictures for Loyola Sacred Heart High School. She's one busy lady, taking part in cheerleading, tennis and volleyball, just to name a few things. She also enjoys acrylic painting and spending time with friends when she's not busy with school-related things. Kally has even fit in time to volunteer at Watson Children's Shelter. Her time at the shelter has shown her how much she enjoys working with kids, and this is one of the things that has inspired her to pursue college at an east coast school, and focus her talents on pediatric ...
An Autumn Love in Majestic Montana – {Lindsay and Paul’s Double Arrow Lodge Wedding}
What is it about autumn that is just so magical? The beautiful colors? The exceptionally golden light as the day winds down? The crisp, cool air? I'm not exactly sure what the answer may be, but I can tell you that Lindsay and Paul's wedding day was magical, too. (Remember their beautiful autumn engagement session?) Laughter and jokes bounced around as Lindsay and Paul got ready with their friends. Soon, it was time to walk down the aisle, and the setting couldn't have been more brilliant. The sun was shining, the mountains were dusted with a fresh layer of snow, and everyone looked amazing in their wedding finery. Lindsay and Paul's two ...
Sparkly Eyes and Brilliant Smiles – {Katie’s Missoula Senior Pictures}
Katie, a class of 2014 senior at Sentinel High School, couldn't have picked a more gorgeous day to have her senior pictures done. The sun was shining, it wasn't too hot, there was a teensy breeze, and her eyes were absolutely sparkling in each shot - everything was just perfect. And, if all that wasn't amazing enough on its own, she, her mom and I had a total blast during her session. Let's just say, there was a heckuva lot of laughter involved. :) We got to visit an old barn with lots of cool texture, we played in some fields and tall grasses, and we even raced the sun, chasing the light to catch the last rays as they peeked over the ...
Car Crazy – {Chase’s Missoula Senior Pictures}
Chase, a senior at Big Sky High School in Missoula, loves cars. Specifically, his Subaru that he's spent a lot of time and energy on to turn into a pretty sweet ride - bright yellow rims included. And he's pretty proud of what he's done with his car - and rightfully so. It looks great! When he's not busy working on his Subaru, Chase enjoys spending time with his friends and going skiing - and this semester, he's really liking his art and woods classes. To further his passion for cars, Chase plans on enrolling in automotive school in Washington state. Here's to a bright future for you, Chase! I truly believe that if you pursue what you ...
Toddler Giggles and Walks in the Woods – {Daisy, Erik and Woody’s Missoula Family Session}
I was giddy upon hearing from Daisy and Erik that they wanted to do another photo session with me while they were in town visiting from North Carolina - this time with their adorable little toddler, Woody! I was so excited to be seeing and photographing them again (I photographed their lovely wedding day a couple years ago), AND to be meeting their cuter-than-a-bug-in-a-rug little boy. Oh. My. Gosh. We had a blast. Woody was such a champ, and he showed us the fine art of tossing rocks into the river, reminded us of the simple pleasure of feeling sand sift through your fingertips, and treated us all to the absolute effervescence of ...
Downtown Walkabout – {Dustin’s Senior Photos}
Dustin, a 2014 senior at Hellgate High School in Missoula, first contacted me to do his senior pictures after hearing from his sister Ashley that he should check out my work. (Thanks Ashley!) Funny enough, Ashley was one of my students in my photojournalism class I taught at the University of Montana's Journalism School this past spring semester. So it was a treat to meet Dustin and get to work with him as well. We had a great time wandering around downtown and Dustin told me he loves hanging out with friends, soaking up warm weather (he grew up in California), and has plans to attend the University of Montana to pursue a degree in ...
