What is it about black stockings that are just so awesome? T certainly rocked them during her boudoir session the other day, and I'm sure her husband-to-be is going to love these images she's giving to him as a wedding present. Thanks again, T, for such a fun session - you really rocked your images! For the rest of you, please enjoy this mini sneak peek, and if you've been contemplating setting up a boudoir session for yourself, don't be afraid to be in touch or ask questions. :) Boudoir sessions are so much fun! On the docket: fashion portraits and engagement sessions! Stay tuned! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Moon over Montana – {Friday Fun Photo}
I hope you all got a chance to step outside last evening and witness the gigantic moon hanging low over the hilltops and reflecting into the Clark Fork - seriously beautiful. I was hoping to see some northern lights, which didn't happen, but my...the moon sure was a good substitute. This photo isn't from last night, but I was reminded that I still had it hanging out, waiting to be shared, and today seemed like a good day for that. Enjoy! This was taken this past June after George and Emily's super fun engagement session. This image is way more gigantic than I'd normally post, but I figured the moon kind of merits that treatment. On the ...
Of Horses, Haybales and Heartfelt Love – {Kim and Randy’s Montana Engagement Session}
The other day, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Kim and Randy in Stevensville, Montana, to trek around Randy's family's ranch and make some engagement photos of Kim, Randy and their horses, P, Q and Dinero. We had so much fun despite the deceptively chilly weather (yet no snow!). And I swear, these two are so perfect for one another - they goofed around with each other, showed off some sweet dance moves, made me (and themselves) laugh a lot!, and just plain had a good time. Not only were they radiant in their photos just on their own, but holy moly - our backdrop for the day wasn't too shabby either (oh Bitterroot valley, you make ...
Visitors from the North – {Snowy Owls in Montana}
This is a bit of a departure from what I normally post....not a portrait session (of people anyway), and much too long for a Wordless Wednesday post......but I really want to share these images with you because, quite simply: Owls Are Cool. Especially snowy owls. And especially since they've been hanging out with us here in Montana. Snowy owls don't usually spend all that much time in our area, so it's pretty rare to see them. They'll hop on down here every 5 or 6 years or so, and when they do...oh my gosh...go and see them! Admittedly, I may be slightly biased because I kind of LOVE birds (ok, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY love birds), but ...
Kisses Amidst the Softly Falling Snow – {Dalton and Eleisha’s Missoula Engagement Session}
Missoula sure hasn't gotten much of a winter this year (minus that one monster dump of snow), but Dalton, Eleisha and I lucked out the other day during their engagement session as we marveled at the beauty of the fat, falling snowflakes. Seriously - we are so lucky to live in such a stunning place. And Dalton and Eleisha wanted to take advantage of our natural surroundings for their very sweet engagement session. Thank you so much for tromping around in the snow with me, you two! So much fun - made even more so by how happy you are together! I can't wait to photograph your wedding this summer! Happy Valentine's Day! On the docket, ...
Stockings, Lace and Garters – {Gini’s Missoula Boudoir Session}
There is something so wonderful about being able to capture a woman's beauty, and have her see it for herself and really be wowed. I feel so honored when I'm asked to photograph boudoir sessions - they're intimate and gorgeous and fun, and also so very empowering. Oftentimes, we as women, can be so picky about our bodies and how we look, that we forget to really, truly look at ourselves - the beauty of our bodies and our personalities combined (myself included!). I was so excited when Gini called me about photographing a boudoir session for her - she wanted to do it to celebrate herself, give herself a birthday present, and teach her ...
Celebrating Sensuality – {Missoula, Montana Boudoir Sessions}
Boudoir - sensual, classy and celebrating all that is lovely about women, because we deserve it, don't we? I had such a wonderful time the other day photographing the brave, excited women who decided to step outside their comfort zone, take a leap of faith, and strip down to their skivvies, all in the name of giving themselves a little treat, as well as their husbands and boyfriends. :) There are many different takes on boudoir photography - and my style of boudoir photography emphasizes classiness, sensuality and femininity. And these ladies definitely exuded all, plus some! Thank you again to the women who participated - I had such ...
Hot Coffee and Warm Hearts – {Maddy and Colin’s Missoula Engagement Session}
Maddy and Colin are such a delightful couple, and we had a great time making some super fun images during their wintry Missoula engagement session. Maddy is a big time coffee fan, so we stopped off to grab a few cups before embarking on our walkabout around the University of Montana where they both met. Maddy and Colin are so meant for each other - the way they look at one another, the way their eyes sparkle (yep, Colin, your eyes did sparkle!), and most importantly, how they make each other laugh - even when in the midst of a snowball fight. Thank you so much, you two, for taking time out of your day to have some fun in the snow with me! ...
There’s Nothing Better than Being with Family – {Portraits of my Own}
I love my family dearly. Which is a huge understatement. They mean so much to me, especially since we are kind of scattered all across the U.S. So when I get to spend time with them, I adore it. I drove to Spokane to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with my grandparents and uncle, and it was absolutely delightful. I spoiled them with pumpkin pies I made, received wonderful warm hugs and got to cook with grandma (which involved a hilarious turn at trying to figure out how to flatten a duck - long story - it involved a couple YouTube videos and resulted in one funny-looking duck!). Cooking with Grandma is especially dear to me since the last ...
From Flowers and Frocks to Sequins and Smoldering – {Ali K.’s “Just Because” Montana Portrait Session}
Ali K. made her annual trek to Montana with her family to meet up with friends and hang out in the wonder that is Montana summer - and she got together with me for her annual "just because" portrait session, which is always such a blast! This year, we went for two distinct styles: sexy librarian, and rocker chic. Ali totally embodied both these looks and I can't even begin to describe to you just how much laughter was involved. Suffice it to say, our cheeks hurt from smiling so much. Also, on a more technical nerdy photographer note, I experimented with a slightly different processing style on these pics to really emulate the look of film. ...
