Autumn weddings are my absolute favorite, and Hannah and Laura's Missoula Montana Ranch Club Wedding was no exception to this. The sun was shining, the blue sky was filled with beautiful, textural clouds, and these ladies were bursting with happiness and beyond excited to get married (their megawatt smiles *might* have given them away a little). That's pure perfection in my book. Before their ceremony they had a super sweet first look - (see above comment about megawatt smiles). We had a great time making some portraits, and then it was time to hide them both away for their big reveal. Family and friends smiled and teared up as Hannah ...
Guy + Teresa :: Missoula Fall Engagement Photos
Autumn was in its prime when I met up with Guy and Teresa and their two adorable miniature schnauzers, Sophie and Königin, for their Missoula fall engagement photos. We were even treated to some downright balmy weather as we wandered along the river making images against the beautiful fall colors. The dogs had a great time exploring (and photo bombing us - haha!) while Guy, Teresa and I chatted and laughed. As it turns out, Guy and Teresa are both very interested in photography. Guy told me he used to be a wedding photographer and also did some work for papers in the Orange County area when he lived there, and Teresa also does some ...
Rosie + Zach :: Missoula Private Residence Wedding
It was a bit of a chilly and wet day for Rosie and Zach's Missoula private residence wedding, but that certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits in the least bit. Anticipation was high, smiles were frequent and everyone was excited for the moment that Rosie and Zach got to see each other as she walked down the aisle. That moment came quickly, and Zach, completely moved by seeing his bride, had to blink back a few tears. But the tears soon gave way to laughter as the two spoke their vows to one another and exchanged rings. They were blessed by a Native American smudge ceremony as a nod to Rosie's heritage, and sealed it all with a ...
Mia :: Missoula Downtown Senior Pictures
Meeting up with Mia for her Missoula downtown senior pictures was so nice - and a reminder of just how quickly time flies! It only seems like yesterday that I was making photos of her for her cheerleading squad, which is now several years ago! We had a great time wandering around some of downtown's fun and funky little nooks and crannies, and as we did so she told me that she's really liking her classes, and is especially enjoying her drawing class. Mia also mentioned to me that she's thinking about pursuing a career in medicine, and at the moment is leaning strongly towards nursing since she really loves people. Mia's got a natural grace ...
Bailey + Andrew :: Missoula Autumn Engagement Photos
It's an understatement to say just how fun Bailey and Andrew's Missoula autumn engagement photos were to make - I'm fairly certain we laughed our heads off the entire shoot! And that's always a good thing in my book. It was even more fun to see just how much these two enjoy one another, and how much in love they are. As we were walking during our session, Bailey and Andrew told me that they met while in high school and were best friends, but didn't start dating until a bit later. Suffice it to say, they fell in love and now they're engaged! Andrew's in school focusing on chemistry and biology and Bailey is finishing up a nursing ...
Emilee :: Autumn Senior Pictures in Missoula Montana
Emilee and I initially attempted to make her senior pictures in August - however, we were thwarted by the massive amounts of forest fire smoke that decided to hang out in the Missoula valley. Fast forward a bit, and we decided to go for autumn senior pictures in Missoula Montana. And I'm so glad we did - even though it rained (kind of a lot), we stuck it out and it resulted in some seriously awesome, unique photos - can we say DOUBLE RAINBOW?? :) Ohhhhh yeahhhhh. Emilee was so wonderful to work with - she's got a beautiful smile and can rock a more serious look as well. She wasn't afraid to dance in the rain and humor me by having fun ...
Monique + Kirkland :: Camrose Hill Flower Farm Wedding in Stillwater Minnesota
Once upon a time, Monique and I were undergrad roommates in college - two years officially and one year living across the hall from one another. We've laughed together, we've cried together, we've concocted crazy Halloween costumes together, we've shared stories, we've busted our bums studying, we've seen each other grow both in and out of college, and we've remained friends ever since. So when Monique contacted me about photographing her Camrose Hill Flower Farm wedding in Stillwater, Minnesota, I was beyond, beyond, beyond happy, excited and honored. To be invited to document and witness one of the happiest days of your friend's life is one ...
Missoula Blood Moon :: Mini Time Lapse
In case you weren't aware, tonight people around the world were treated to both a super moon and an eclipse, which created a "blood moon" effect. I ventured out with some friends to grab a few shots and ended up making this mini time lapse. It's nothing spectacular since I was just doing this for fun, but I thought I'd share anyway. Can you see the little shooting star on the far right? I hope you all got out to see it as well - our world (and out of this world) is pretty darn great, don't you think? Cheers! -Kristine ...
Sean :: Senior Photos along the River in Lolo Montana
When I heard that Sean was interested in having me do his senior photos, I knew we'd have a great session. A couple years ago, his sister Katie and I had had such a wonderful time during her senior session, and I still recall just how fun it was to run through the fields and chase the light with her. :) Sean's session was just as fantastic. He picked our location in Lolo because he's spent quite a bit of time down by the river throwing sticks for his dog, Jake. Jake even got to come along for Sean's shoot, and made a few cameo appearances as well. We had such a fun time wandering the trails by the river, cracking up at Jake and his ...
Kaeleigh :: Missoula Montana Senior Pictures in the Forest
It was so nice to meet up with Kaeleigh and her most excellent personal assistants (thanks, Kaeleigh's family!) for her Missoula Montana senior pictures. We found some gorgeous filtered light streaming down through the forest trees, and had a great time laughing and meandering through the woods to make Kaeleigh's photos. This setting fit perfectly with a few of Kaeleigh's favorite interests, which are the environment and biology. But when Kaeleigh's not out enjoying the beauty of the natural world, she really likes to bake, and cookies are her absolute favorite thing to make. Kaeleigh - thanks again for a wonderful session and ...
