Ok, so I'm veering a bit from a traditional Wordless Wednesday post and instead want to give a shout out to LunaFest, which is taking place Wednesday, March 16th at the Wilma Theater in downtown Missoula to help benefit the YWCA of Missoula. What is LunaFest, you ask? To quote from the Missoula LunaFest's website: LUNAFEST was established in 2000 by LUNA, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, to simultaneously promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for women’s issues, and support worthy women’s nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada. LUNAFEST is completely funded by LUNA and run by a small, dedicated group ...
Vegetable Bouquet – {Wordless Wednesday}
I make a lot of photos that don't actually end up on the blog. A lot of them are just for fun, some just don't fit in the space I allot myself, and....oh, I don't know. I get busy and just don't post them. But, I've decided to remedy that by doing a Wordless Wednesday post each week. I'll be blogging one image or series of images, with little to no explanation needed. For the very first Worldess Wednesday, I'm sharing the following...... { Vegetable Bouquet } Cheers! -Kristine ...

On Not Taking Life for Granted – {Personal Post}
As some of you know, I zipped across the country for a few days to my parents' home for Christmas. We were lucky enough to all be together again for the holiday and had ourselves a lovely Christmas together. My brother and I stayed up late Christmas day, talking about anything and everything into the wee hours, munching on cookies in my parents' kitchen. We were startled when we heard pounding on our front door. Who could that be at midnight on Christmas Day? So odd... my brother answered and it was a policeman come to tell us that our neighbor's house was on fire. My brother and I asked the police man if everyone was ok, if they'd ...
Snow and Smiles – {Cross Country Skiing Portrait Session}
I was lucky enough to be able to make the sojourn to Wisconsin for a brief visit over Christmas to spend time with my parents, my brother and some wonderful friends. It's nice to make the trip since I grew up in Wisconsin, but my true home is Montana, which is where I was born. It's why I've spent my entire adult life pursuing these roots, which I'm so glad to say have happily landed here for a good while now. But it's always bittersweet to go back to Wisconsin, because, though I love it there, my parents dearly wish they were out west as well, closer to my brother and me. However, my family always has a blast when we're together - our ...
Happy New Year, All! – {Thanks for a great 2010!}
Can you believe that 2011 is a matter of hours away? I can't really wrap my mind around it - 2010 flew by in a flurry of wonderful experiences, including so many memorable photo sessions and weddings. I wouldn't be as happy with life and my work if it weren't for all of my fantastic clients (seriously, you all are WONDERFUL), business friends and supporters of my work. I'm always so grateful and humbled that you choose me to document the moments in your lives - it means more to me than you may know. To celebrate the awesomeness that is YOU, I put together a collage of some of my favorite images from 2010 - can you find yourself or ...
Sun-kisses and Joshua Trees – {Visit to L.A., California}
I zipped out to LA for a few days to take part in a small photo conference and in between work, took a few photos. (Twist my arm, right?) I swung by Venice Beach, the Santa Monica Pier, and hopped on over to Palm Canyon and Joshua Tree National Park. California treated me well. I left with wonderful business connections, a stockpile of new freckles, and some fun images. These are a few of my favorites - enjoy! On the docket: fashion shoots! Cheers, -Kristine ...
First Snow – {Quiet Montana Beauty}
I woke up this morning, super excited to see snow on the ground. Even if it wasn't much, I can't help but become a little giddy over the first snow of the season. I was especially happy about it because I had been planning on doing a location scout for a photo session I have coming up. I adore road trips. Especially the snowy road trips (as long as it's not *too* dangerous to drive). There's something that's just magical about driving amidst the tall, snow-laden pines...it's almost as if you're the only person in the world. I stopped to scope out a spot I thought might be great for the shoot. And I became totally caught up in how serene, ...
Happy Halloween! – {Missoula Trick-or-Treater Portraits}
Halloween is one of my absolute favorite, FAVORITE holidays. As a kid, my brother, friends and I would always get all decked out in crazy costumes (Pippi Longstocking, penguins, Cheshire cats, you name it), ready to brave the chilly autumn weather for that forbidden pleasure: CANDY. I thought it would be fun to set up a photo booth of sorts for the trick-or-treaters stopping by my place last night. And we had a blast! Thanks to all the kiddos, teens and parents for having some photo fun! And now...drum roll please...the photos! P.S. I found a pair of nice gloves in my lawn last evening. If you're missing a pair, please call or e-mail ...
“The Autumn Leaves, Drift By My Window, The Autumn Leaves, of Red and Gold”
The title of the post is a lyric from Diana Krall's song, Autumn Leaves. I think it's fitting. Isn't is just absolutely gorgeous this autumn? I'm so glad we're having a real one as opposed to last year's cold shock for the poor trees. Anyway, it's been a busy past few weeks - lots of design work (albums, cards, ads, etc.) and event photography, which has been fun. I love design, so it's kind of a treat to get to spend time working on this aspect of my business. By the way, if you're interested in cards and/or albums in time for Christmas, please let me know as soon as you can since printing deadlines are just around the corner. (Early ...
