A few days after Christmas I had the pleasure of getting together with Megan and Jeremy and their family since they were all together in Missoula for the holidays. It was such a treat to see everyone again, and this time around I even got to meet Megan and Jeremy's dog, Grafton (who is the cutest, fuzziest dude ever!). The backstory about their "engagement" session is that I photographed Megan and Jeremy's wedding in 2012 (so pretty!), but we had to delay their engagement session until a later date since they live more than a hop and a skip away from Missoula. So, a little over a year later we had a great time making photos of these two - ...
A Season for Smiles – {The Braun Family’s Missoula Portraits}
Cute kids, golden leaves, happy smiles - that's about the definition of perfection, isn't it? Maddy, Ali, Nick, Rachel and even Sunny the dog, and I all had a great time on a beautiful autumn afternoon making some photos of them together and individual portraits as well. We giggled, we chit chatted, and we definitely laughed. Great job, you guys! Keep those beautiful smiles and laughter coming! :) On the docket: portraits, one last wedding for the year, and more portraits! Don't miss out! Cheers, -Kristine ...
A Fondness for Flathead Lake and a Soft Spot for Horses – {Kristi’s Senior Portraits}
Kristi and her family have been visiting Flathead Lake in Polson for years, and so it was natural that she chose to do her senior portraits in a spot that means a lot to her, and one that not only featured the beauty of the lake and of Montana, but also horses - one of her absolute loves. :) Kristi will be a 2014 senior this year at The Overlake School in Redmond, Washington, and has been checking out the University of Texas and Texas A&M and dreams of going to college to pursue her goal of becoming a veterinarian. She has been working at a vet clinic the last two summers and she even worked at a horse rescue this past year as well. ...
A Lovely Lady, Her Horses and Her Dog – {Marty’s Corvallis, Montana Portrait Session}
I got a note all the way back in December from Emily who was so excited to surprise her twin sister Marty with a Christmas present of a portrait session for her and her four-legged friends, Patches and Cricket, her two horses, and Pele, her trusty dog. Patches and Pele are getting up there in years, so this was especially meaningful for Marty. And it was such a pleasure to photograph this session for Marty and her very well-loved animals. As it turns out, Patches likes to "work it" for the camera (I swear, she struck a few poses for me), and Cricket...well, she'll put up with the shoot, but she gave us some pretty hilarious expressions, ...
A River Runs Through it – {Julie and Dave’s Stillwater River Outpost Wedding}
Julie and Dave, both big fans of fly fishing, chose the Stillwater River Outpost in Absarokee as their ideal place to tie the knot. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but it's got personal significance to them as well since they have spent quite a bit of time there enjoying all the river and the location have to offer. True to form, Montana decided to wow everyone with some pretty epic rainstorms, but then pulled out all the stops right as wedding day activities started getting underway, and showed off blue skies, fluffy clouds and brilliant sunlight to highlight Julie and Dave's beautiful riverside wedding. Their dog Quill walked down ...
Brown-Eyed Girl – {Val’s Missoula Senior Pictures}
It was a ridiculously smoky day when Val and I met up for her senior pictures - however, that didn't stop us for one second. And Val seriously rocked her images to celebrate her class of 2013 status. As did her horse, Stitch. These two are so sweet together - he kept nuzzling her, and was a trooper even when he wanted to eat the yummy grass instead of looking at the camera. Val has been riding English-style since she was a young girl, and hopes to pursue a degree in equine veterinary medicine after graduating from Loyala High School. She's definitely got the magic touch with horses, so I'm sure she'll be a great vet! Here's to a fab ...
Spring Smiles – {Molly and Andy’s Missoula Engagement Session}
I met up with Molly and Andy a while back to do a super mini engagement session with them - it was short and sweet - just what they wanted - and their cat, Melvin, even got to share the spotlight. :) Can't wait for your wedding this summer, you two! On the docket: portraits! Cheers, -Kristine ...
My Little Blue Bird – {Flash the Parrotlet}
I don't often post personal stuff, but today I'm just feeling like it. Perhaps it was because Missoula hit a sunny 70 degrees and upped my Vitamin D? Perhaps I can't get over how stinking cute my little bird is? (Yes, yes, I know - I'm biased.) Perhaps I want to reveal "the man behind the curtain," as it were, and give you an idea of who I am? Who knows. But here it is. Some of you may know that I adore birds. Love them. Think they're incredible. This stems from the fact that I grew up with canaries, and with grandparents who loved birding, and taught my brother and I a lot about this favorite pastime of theirs. I also know that some ...
Of Horses, Haybales and Heartfelt Love – {Kim and Randy’s Montana Engagement Session}
The other day, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Kim and Randy in Stevensville, Montana, to trek around Randy's family's ranch and make some engagement photos of Kim, Randy and their horses, P, Q and Dinero. We had so much fun despite the deceptively chilly weather (yet no snow!). And I swear, these two are so perfect for one another - they goofed around with each other, showed off some sweet dance moves, made me (and themselves) laugh a lot!, and just plain had a good time. Not only were they radiant in their photos just on their own, but holy moly - our backdrop for the day wasn't too shabby either (oh Bitterroot valley, you make ...
Naturally Beautiful – {Jeff and Lauren’s Creative Montana Bridal Session}
We are so darn lucky to live in Montana. I mean, just look at what our eyes get to feast upon on a daily basis! Lauren and Jeff took advantage of the exceptional natural beauty of the Two Feathers Ranch where they were married and met up with me a couple days after their wedding to have fun rocking their creative bridal session. It really couldn't have been a more gorgeous evening - we caught the tail end of a summer storm, so we had some beautiful clouds in the sky and golden light towards the end of our evening. We got to hang out with their horses as well, who were exceptionally curious about my cameras. (See outtakes towards the bottom ...
