I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I ADORE. AdoreAdoreAdore elopements. And I absolutely loved everything about Katherine Ann and David's elopement at Triple Creek Ranch in Darby Montana. They came to the ranch by way of Colorado, and were treated to some of Montana's finest fall colors for their special day. We started out the day by photographing Katherine Ann as she was getting ready, and once all the buttons were buttoned and the shoes were fastened, we headed down the road to surprise David, who was ever-so-patiently waiting to see his beautiful bride for the first time. There was laughter, there were tears, there were hugs. ...
Haley + Kevin :: Autumn Engagement Photos in Missoula Montana
I seriously love the people I get to work with, and I love them even more when we spend the majority of their session just cracking up and laughing. And that's exactly what we did during Haley and Kevin's autumn engagement photos in Missoula Montana. Luckily it wasn't pouring for our photos (we had to reschedule from our original date due to our wet autumn), and thankfully it wasn't muddy either, as little Weezy, Haley and Kevin's 6-year-old Pomeranian, may have gotten lost in any sort of mud! So it was a perfect day for their shoot - we had a wonderful time wandering around, finding bright, colorful spots that really showed off the magic ...
Megan + Marty :: Six Mile Estate Wedding in Bigfork Montana
It was certainly a rainy and wet day for Megan and Marty's Six Mile Estate Wedding in Bigfork Montana, but these two aren't ones to let a little bit of rain dampen their spirits one bit. Megan was so happy as she got ready in one of the cabins on the property - rain pelted down outside, but she took it all in stride, eager and excited to walk down the aisle and see her groom. Initially, because of how wet it was, the ceremony was going to be moved inside. But at the last second, the clouds broke a bit, the rain let up, and a group of folks helped move the benches out to the grass, wipe them off, and get people ready to witness Megan and ...
Sam :: Senior Pictures in Missoula MT
From the get-go I knew I'd have a great time making senior pictures in Missoula MT for Sam, a senior at Sentinel High School. He's got such a positive attitude and was really looking forward to his downtown urban session with all the funky buildings and whatnot. As we wandered from spot to spot during his short and sweet session, Sam told me a little bit more about himself. He's really into graphic design, and also enjoys journalism and cars. In fact, he's combined these last two by taking an internship with a car publication and is currently writing for them (how cool!). Sam also loves movies and music and he even plays the piano in the ...
Ryan :: Senior Pictures in Missoula
We have had what feels like an unusually rainy autumn in Missoula, but somehow Ryan and I lucked out for his senior pictures in Missoula, and we enjoyed a break in the rain and even were treated to some sun as well! For Ryan's short and sweet session, we visited a park near his house and then wandered up a nearby hillside. As we wandered, Ryan told me a little bit more about himself. He's really into music and especially enjoys playing his saxophone. At the time of his session, he was just about to head to All State with the high school band. He told me that he likes improvisation, but joked and pointed out that he's not really a huge fan ...
Jake :: Corvallis Montana Senior Photos
I was a little nervous Jake and I were going to get stormed on for his Corvallis Montana senior photos - as I was driving in, the clouds hung low and dark in the sky and I saw a few lightning bolts crackle through the air. But somehow we lucked out and the storm clouds stayed away, and even treated us to some pretty dramatic scenes and absolutely lovely light right in Jake's own back yard. Jake's originally from Seattle, but absolutely loves and prefers Montana and has been here for about 3 years now. He also adores his dogs, and we got to photograph Shiloh, his 7-year-old German short hair pointer, and Ranger, his 8-month-old puppy, also ...
The Bradley Family :: Missoula Montana Fall Family Portraits
I've had the pleasure of photographing the Bradley family since 2010 (oh my, where does the time go?!), so I was of course excited to be photographing their Missoula Montana fall family portraits again this year. They are such a beautiful, happy family, and it really is such a treat to see the kids grow up over the years. We lucked out with a gorgeous autumn day in Missoula for their session - the sun was shining, the leaves were golden, and everyone was happy and excited. The kids skipped through the leaves, tossed rocks and had a great time racing through the tall, willowy grasses. Karu even scaled some trees! Joss was happy to dole out ...
Will :: Missoula Children’s Portraits
I was so happy to get a message from Will's mom, Dana, saying that she'd like to make some Missoula children's portraits of Will at this stage in his life (he's 5-years-old) and that she'd like to document him in one of his favorite places. I just adore sessions like this because they're less about posed images and more about capturing Will just as he is. Which is exactly what we did. And, just as I suspected, we had a blast! We had our session in a place that Will visits often, and he led the way, dashing off excitedly to show me some of his favorite nooks and crannies in the woods. He shared with me his love of pretty autumn leaves (red ...
Katie + Lee :: Lake Josephine Glacier Wedding
Ah, Glacier weddings. How I adore thee so. And Katie and Lee's Lake Josephine Glacier wedding in Glacier National Park this autumn was no exception. The day started out a bit on the wet side (that's an understatement) since we've been having a very rainy fall this year, so we were all glancing at the sky, hoping the rain would hold off for Katie and Lee's ceremony. And, much to our delight, hold off it did! We all gathered at the trailhead, and hiked to Lake Josephine in groups. On our way up, we happened to run into a moose, which is always cool, especially when he's chill about it (which he was, and for which I was glad, as I was wearing ...
Nathan :: Missoula MT Senior Pictures
We had a beautiful autumn day for Nathan's Missoula MT senior pictures - the sun was shining, it wasn't too cold, and Nathan definitely brought his A-game to his session. As we wandered through the woods that were just starting to show signs of autumn, Nathan, a senior at Sentinel High School, told me a little more about himself. He's a studious guy, and really enjoys science. Currently he's taking quite a few AP classes, and is thinking that he'll likely pursue a degree in the science/biology realm after graduating from high school. At the moment, Montana State University in Bozeman is on his short list. Nathan's also lived quite a few ...
