A belated Happy Halloween to you all! It was another great night full of little goblins and ghouls ready for tricks, treats and pics at my Halloween Photo Spook Booth. Halloween has always been a favorite holiday of mine, and last year I thought - what the hey - it'll be fun to do this for all the little kids that come by my house on Halloween night. It was a great success last year, and such a fun time this year as well. I noticed there were a few returning trick-or-treaters from last year (I heard one boy shout, "This is the photo house! She's a photo god!" Thank you, mystery boy - that made my night!) as well as lots of new kids armed ...
Dimples, Laughter and Smiles – {Shepard Family Portrait Session}
Laughter and giggles were in abundance during my autumn photo session with the Shepard family. We had such a great time making some family portraits for them, and the kiddos were terrific sports and had a blast in front of the camera. Thank you for such a fun session - you've got an awesome family! :) On the docket: portraits galore! If you haven't yet booked your portrait session, please be sure to do so promptly if you're hoping for an autumn look or would like to use images for Christmas cards. Cheers! -Kristine ...
Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice – {Missoula Family Portrait Session}
I met up with Dawn and Eddie and their five adorable little girls, Jasmine, Jordan, Jersey, Jillian and Julisse the other day for their beautiful family portrait session. What an enjoyable time it was! We had a great time laughing and chatting as we made their portraits, and I've got to say - these girls blew me away with how inquisitive, sweet and polite they all were. We talked a lot about my cameras and my job and I got the sweetest little kid compliment from Jersey. She said, "When we were all walking together, I looked up at my mom and said, 'This is so awesome!' And I had to tell you too - this is awwwwesome!" Thank you all SO much ...
Getting Art Into Missoula Schools – {Paxson Art Project}
This past spring I had the wonderful opportunity to help produce a documentary about the Paxson Art Project taking place in Paxson Elementary School in Missoula, a program that was developed by the Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC). Visiting artists came into the school and taught kids from kindergarten through fifth grade new art concepts. Currently these kids only receive 6 hours of art per year. Yes, you heard that right - per YEAR. I stopped by these visiting artists' classes and put together an informative video about the project which will be shown to folks around the area to hopefully help educate them about the need for art for ...
The Best Things in Life Come in Threes – {Darby, MT Family Portrait Session}
And this is certainly true for the Butler family who have two-year-old triplet boys to keep them on their toes. I swung over to Darby a few days after Lauren and Jeff's Two Feathers ranch wedding to meet up with them for their family session with their little guys. The triplets had a blast showing me the finer points of cowboy hat-throwing, hay tossing, rock-skipping, tree-"climbing," and grass-wading (since the tall grass is much, MUCH taller than these adorable little guys!). Thank you so much for having me photograph your handsome family! On to the photos of these little charmers. On the docket: a stunning bridal ...
Laughter and Hugs! – {Missoula Family Portrait Session}
I met up with this lovely family the other day for a session so fun, I'm not sure we stopped laughing! A warm drizzle came down, but this didn't stop anyone from smiling as we trekked about, played hide and seek, even threw a few snowballs. Thank you so much, all of you! You are a beautiful, loving, happy family and I couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear! Thank you for being so fun to photograph - you really made my day! On the docket: engagement sessions! P.S. Don't forget, I'm going to be at the Southgate Mall's 2011 Bridal Fair on Saturday, February 5th. Feel free to swing by - I'd love to see ...
Happy New Year, All! – {Thanks for a great 2010!}
Can you believe that 2011 is a matter of hours away? I can't really wrap my mind around it - 2010 flew by in a flurry of wonderful experiences, including so many memorable photo sessions and weddings. I wouldn't be as happy with life and my work if it weren't for all of my fantastic clients (seriously, you all are WONDERFUL), business friends and supporters of my work. I'm always so grateful and humbled that you choose me to document the moments in your lives - it means more to me than you may know. To celebrate the awesomeness that is YOU, I put together a collage of some of my favorite images from 2010 - can you find yourself or ...
Rockin’ Recessionistas – {YWCA Missoula Fashion Shoot}
I had such a fabulous time the past several days volunteering my photography for YWCA's Secret Seconds 2011 Recessionista campaign. The models totally rocked their shoots as well as the Secret Seconds clothing they were showcasing, we all had a blast and made some great images to help promote an extremely worthy cause. You can grab some affordable styles and make a difference, too - all sales at YWCA Secret Seconds help women and children in crisis, including the YWCA's domestic violence shelter. Thanks ladies! I'm looking forward to doing this again! Cheers! -Kristine ...
Happy Halloween! – {Missoula Trick-or-Treater Portraits}
Halloween is one of my absolute favorite, FAVORITE holidays. As a kid, my brother, friends and I would always get all decked out in crazy costumes (Pippi Longstocking, penguins, Cheshire cats, you name it), ready to brave the chilly autumn weather for that forbidden pleasure: CANDY. I thought it would be fun to set up a photo booth of sorts for the trick-or-treaters stopping by my place last night. And we had a blast! Thanks to all the kiddos, teens and parents for having some photo fun! And now...drum roll please...the photos! P.S. I found a pair of nice gloves in my lawn last evening. If you're missing a pair, please call or e-mail ...
Stone-Skipping, Field-Running and Tree-Climbing – {Jones Family Portrait Session}
I met up with the Jones family on a beautiful autumn day in Missoula for their family portrait session. The kids were pretty excited for their photos and we had a great time making some great family images, as well as capturing candid moments. We found some fantastic skipping stones and the kids showed off their skills to me, in addition to a broken stick. (Oh, boys will definitely be boys! So hilarious!) Thanks again, all of you! I had such a great time photographing with you - I hope we get to do this again next year, too! On the docket: Events and exciting product announcements! Cheers! -Kristine ...
