It was such a pleasure to photograph Colleen and Colin’s engagement session here in Missoula last summer, so I knew that getting to be their photographer for their Holland Ranch Wedding in San Luis Obispo California would be just as wonderful. And their wedding day certainly lived up to that expectation and beyond!

Excited energy was tangible as the ladies and gents prepped themselves to head on over to to the ranch. We were treated to a perfectly sunny California day, and a breeze to keep things cool. As their ceremony began, and as Colleen made her debut at the top of the stairway down to the aisle, Colin smiled at his soon-to-be bride, and she grinned right back at him.

Their ceremony was touching, full of love, laughter and a few tears, and before they knew it, it was time to seal it all with a kiss and walk down the aisle as husband wife for the first time. Friends and family cheered, and Colleen and Colin looked at one another, beaming and full of happiness.

Guests were soon treated to a delicious dinner, rousing toasts and scrumptious desserts outside of the barn before it was time to really let loose and kick up their heels.

The California light didn’t disappoint in the least, and Colleen and Colin and I sneaked away to make a few images as the sun sank into the rolling hillsides. The two were wrapped in dreamy, golden light as they smiled and laughed with one another, taking a moment to relish the happiness of their wedding day.

We rejoined the party in the barn, and the band really got cookin,’ and treated everyone to a lively and fun evening as the moon rose in the sky, and the stars shined into the inky California evening.

Colleen and Colin – thank you again for inviting me to photograph your wedding day! It was so special to be able to visit a place so near and dear to you, and to capture such sweet moments between you two and between you and your friends and family as well. I had such a blast making these images for you, and I am so happy for you both as you begin this new chapter in your lives! Here’s to you two!
