My brain is always on overdrive, thinking of new things I’d like to try in my photography, so it was such a treat to meet Lynnae, who answered my model call to help me out with said new idea. (And if you’d like to hear when I have these model calls, hop on over to my Facebook page and become a liker to stay in the know. You don’t even have to be a model, per se – I prefer to work with people without modeling experience, and we have a grand ol’ time!)

It was a ridiculously hot evening, but she definitely kept her cool and we had a blast as she had fun in front of the camera and indulged my whims. The light was seriously scrumptious and highlighted Lynnae’s beautiful, bright eyes wonderfully, and we had so much fun on our walkabout, finding little nooks and crannies to pop into for some shots. Honestly – is there anything better than blingy sequins, polka dots, glowing light, a fantastic model and a photo walk? That’s about everything I love in a nutshell right there.

Thanks again, Lynnae, for doing such a beautiful job in front of the camera! You are a natural! Keep finding that light, and if you need more photos in the future, just holler at me. :)

I always love photographing YWCA Recessionistas (and Recessionisto’s – gotta give a shout out to the guys, too!) to help promote their Secret Seconds stores in Missoula for a few different reasons:

1. Our shoots are always a blast!
2. These volunteer models have mega awesome fashion sense (from clothes they find at the stores – that’s important to know!).
3.  Most importantly, it’s for a great cause!

 
The lovely folks from NCBI Missoula certainly lived up to these three things and, despite it being a bit windy (with the slight danger of going all Mary Poppins on the shoot with our rainbow umbrella), we all had a great time making images for a good cause. And, I’ve got to say, I think I now want everyone I photograph to wear a bright red union suit. (I kid, I kid – but how incredible is THAT find, right?!)

Last but not least, don’t forget why the YWCA is so important to our community – all sales at the Missoula YWCA‘s Secret Seconds thrift stores help women and children in crisis, including the YWCA’s domestic violence shelter. Talk about a great bargain – getting some new-to-you duds AND helping out a great cause. Thrift away my friends!

Lacey and I met up the other day for her model session, all the while crossing our fingers the skies didn’t open and start pouring on us. It was definitely chilly, but the weather cooperated and didn’t saddle us with any raindrops.

Lacey was great to work with, and I was excited that we also had wind to play with. That was certainly cold, but oh-so-worth-it.

It was one of those evenings that photographers (or at least I) really love – warm and sunny with delicious evening light. So Maddy, Alexis, Krista and I all took advantage of it and had fun making some smoldering images for their RMEA portfolios.

It was a bit of a dreary, overcast day when Brin, Amelia and Leah all met up with me for their model shoot. But we definitely made the most of it (they rocked their shoots!) and the sun even peeked out once or twice for us, too.

I am a self-professed color, texture and light addict. So when I got to really emphasize these three favorite things in my photos with Healy, Holly and Carson, I was pretty darn stoked. Yellow, BAM! Purple red and black, BAM! Groovy corrugated metal, BAM BAM! Pretty light, OH MY! Suffice it to say that I was one happy photographer. Not to mention that all three of them were so much fun to work with – what a great day! Thanks H, H and C – way to work it for the camera! ;)

Maddy and Carson and I got together the other day (along with some other models who will be featured soon) to take advantage of the spring-like weather and have fun shooting. And have fun we did! SUCH a blast! These are just a sampling of images from Maddy’s and Carson’s various shoots that day – Maddy’s off to Italy soon! It was a lovely December day to meet up with Jessica for her model session – and the sun even peeked out for us, too! We had a great time making these images, and even though it was sometimes difficult for Jessica to keep her eyes open in such bright sunlight, she was beyond fantastic. And it was so worth it – I mean – seriously. Look at her eyes in the light…they’re incredible!

Thanks again, Jessica, for doing such a fabulous job on your shoot! What a wonderful time! :) And first, a little “promo” video of sorts for her – let’s just say we had a lot of fun on this shoot. :)

I joined Karlee the other day for a fun little “back to school” shoot for RMEA. She did such a great job, and we even managed to catch some of the sweet evening light we’ve been getting what with all the smoke in the air (yes, that orange colored glow is from the smoky evening sun). Karlee was so much fun to work with – she’s just got the most gorgeous eyes, such a sweet smile, and even laughs at me when I’m being a complete goof. ;) Thanks again Karlee for being so awesome!
