I was so happy to hear from Courtney when she called me up to ask me about photographing her Missoula courthouse wedding because 1) she was just so darn excited! And 2) I'd met her originally at Michelle and Dave's wedding last year where she was a bridesmaid, and I knew that we'd have a wonderful time getting to work with each other again - this time at her own wedding to Branden! Courtney told me that she really loves the architecture of the courthouse, so we all had a good time making images out front and inside of the building. And I've got to say, Courtney's two kids, Tony and Avery, are just the sweetest! Soon it was time for ...
Keegan, Anze and Mikko :: Missoula Father and Son Portraits
I was so happy to hear from Keegan when he contacted me about having Missoula father and son portraits made with his boys, Anze and Mikko. There's just something so special about the connection between a dad and his boys, and I'm so glad he wanted to document it. Anze and Mikko (and Keegan too, of course!) were such troopers and we had a great time searching the river for fishies, racing through the grass, making wishes on flowers, and hunting for grasshoppers (that Anze very successfully found!). The boys loved getting tickles from their dad and each other, Anze made sure Mikko didn't actually eat any of the pine needles he was trying so ...
Shannon + Jud :: Stone Tower Estate Wedding in Stevensville Montana
After such an amazing/fun/unique engagement session with Shannon and Jud this past autumn, I knew their Stone Tower Estate wedding in Stevensville Montana would be equally as wonderful. And, no surprise, they didn't disappoint in the least. Shannon and Jud started off their day with a really fun first look (Jud's expression is just SO great!), and then we had fun making portraits with the two of them and their bridal party. And by fun, I mean LOTS of fun. Shannon, Jud and their friends and family are a great group and they definitely had themselves a good time as we made images together. (I'd also like to "shout out" the old chairs from ...
Zoe :: Seeley Lake Montana Senior Photos and Family Session
It's always so nice to photograph in locations that hold meaning to the people whose portraits I'm making, and it was especially fun for Zoe's Seeley Lake Montana senior photos since we got to photograph at her great grandparents' property in Seeley Lake. We started out our evening by making some sunny family portraits while everybody was together, and then off we dashed to the old barn to start Zoe's session. We had such a blast poking around that delightfully worn structure, balancing on fences, and Zoe even perched atop the ranch's old orange Chevrolet truck, too! (The color-lover in me was darn excited!) I loved that Zoe had so many ...
Katie + Anthony :: Rock Creek Montana Engagement Session
I have secretly always wanted to photograph a session at the legendary Rock Creek of Montana since I absolutely love camping that direction (and one of these days I want to learn how to fish it!). So when Katie and Anthony mentioned that they'd like a Rock Creek Montana engagement session, ooooooh boy! I was excited. Not only because of my aforementioned secret wish, but because I knew I'd have such a blast with these two. And we totally did. After what felt like days and days of rain, we somehow managed to luck into a dry spell (even though it was a fairly chilly day!), and had such a great time checking out the creek and surrounding ...
Lynn :: On the Summit Personal Branding Session in Missoula
From the moment Lynn contacted me about making images for her new Missoula business, "On the Summit," I knew we'd have a great time. She wanted natural images that speak to who she is and her love of the outdoors, and I think we captured that pretty darn well during her On the Summit Personal Branding Session in Missoula....and we had a heckuva lot of fun doing it! From giggling downtown whilst drinking coffee, to traipsing through wildflower fields, to splashing cool creek water, we had such a pleasant time capturing Lynn in some of her happiest places. Her husband, Juan, tagged along too, and could seriously have a side job as ...
Erin + Eric :: Ranch Club Wedding in Missoula
Erin and Eric are big golfers - so much so, that Eric proposed to Erin on the golf course he worked at in Hawaii, and then had their Ranch Club Wedding in Missoula, another great golf course. While we may not have had Hawaiian temperatures for their wedding day, the warmth of love and happiness surrounded everyone, despite the fact that it was a little breezy. Erin rode up to the aisle in a golf cart with her father, where she was then joined by her mother. There were a few tears, plenty of smiles, and a lot of happy celebration after Erin and Eric spoke their vows to one another and sealed it all with a kiss. We took advantage of the ...
Kristina + Ben :: Darby Montana Elopement at the Triple Creek Ranch
Upon first chatting with Kristina and Ben about their upcoming Darby Montana elopement at the Triple Creek Ranch, I knew that we'd have such a fabulous time making images for the two of them. They love the outdoors, are beyond sweet, and were really excited about visiting Montana for the first time. It also didn't hurt that Kristina's a fellow redhead, and we even share the same initials! I tell you, Meant. To. Be! (And as Kristina would say, "Kismet!") The day of their elopement arrived, and I think we were all a little nervous about how the weather would behave (or misbehave). It had been raining for days and days (which, in Montana, you ...
Hannah + Laura :: Stevensville Montana Engagement Session
There's nothing quite as perfect as a sunny Montana evening hanging out with two fantastic people, and Hannah and Laura's Stevensville Montana engagement session certainly lived up to that description! Technically, Hannah and Laura were married this past September, so this was more of a "belated" engagement session, but still, absolutely just as fun. We started out by photographing them with their dog, Dorothy, and their cat, Sherman - who are both just a cute as bugs in a rug, and clearly in adoration of their parents. Dorothy was one happy lady, and was pretty excited about the whole session and Sherman acted like he'd been born for his ...
Amelia and her Family :: Baby Outdoor Cake Smash and Family Photos
It's an understatement to say how much of a treat it was to meet up with Amanda, Travis, Robbie and Amelia again (I had the pleasure of making family photos for them this past autumn, too!). This time it was to make some baby outdoor cake smash and family photos - with Amelia as the star of the show to celebrate her upcoming first birthday! (Happy, happy birthday, Amelia!) Our session took place on a beautiful 82-degree day (in May - holy moly!), and we started out by making some non-cake photos first. It was so fun to walk through the woods with these four, tiptoeing down the length of large logs, finding dandelions, discovering a variety ...
