Caden and I met up on a FRIGID...and I'm talking FRIGID - maybe all of 7 degrees...winter day to make his Hamilton High School senior portraits. Even though it was so cold, it couldn't have been a more beautiful day. Snowflakes were falling all around us, and we managed to have a pretty darn good time even though we were slowly turning into icicles. Caden did a fantastic job despite the temps (and despite me inadvertently cracking him up during our "serious" shots). As we walked around, he told me that he really enjoys playing his guitar (and I got to hear a few notes too - they sounded great!), and especially likes fishing. When asked ...
Father and Sons – {The Sandberg Family’s Wintry Photo Session}
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Mike, Cole and Josiah the other day to photograph their family session that they won from the University of Montana's Easter Eggstravaganza this past spring. And, even though it was SOOOO cold, we had such a nice time tromping about through the fresh snow. The boys are huge fans of the Green Bay Packers (woo hoo Wisconsin shout out!), and they even showed off to me their best, fiercest game day faces. (I'm pretty sure I heard some Vikings' knees a-knockin' over yonder.) Thanks again, guys, for a fun session! And kudos to you again for braving the cold! I hope that hot chocolate was warm and tasty. ...
Blue Skies and Sunny Smiles – {The Jones Family’s Stevensville, Montana Portraits}
I simply adore being able to meet the newest additions to my couples' families. To have the opportunity to photograph their new family together is such a treat and such an honor, and I got to do just that with Kim, Randy and their 9-month-old daughter Reata. It's hard to believe that not too long ago we were making engagement photos and wedding photos. Crazy how time flies! It was a bit of a chilly afternoon for our shoot, but the sun was on our side and kept us warm as we ventured from spot to spot. And Reata - what a little cutie pie! She was great, and had a blast "driving" Randy's truck from location to location as well. There is so ...
A Walk through the Woods – {The Means Family’s Missoula Photo Session}
I got together with the Means family a few days ago to make some photos of the four of them together, and of just Kira and Logan as well. I'm always so happy when families make the time to do this because it's true - we all get busy with our lives and before we know it, one kid is on one side of the country, and another kid is off on an adventure abroad and poof! It becomes challenging to get everyone together in the same place at the same time. We ended up getting to shoot on a quintessentially gorgeous Montana morning - there was a light dusting of snow on the trees and the temps were low, but not so low that we were freezing cold. And, ...
Woodsy Beauty – {Lacey’s Missoula Model Session}
Lacey and I met up the other day for her model session, all the while crossing our fingers the skies didn't open and start pouring on us. It was definitely chilly, but the weather cooperated and didn't saddle us with any raindrops. Lacey was great to work with, and I was excited that we also had wind to play with. That was certainly cold, but oh-so-worth-it. Thanks Lacey! Looking forward to working with you again in the future. :) On the docket: portraits! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Perfect Autumn Days – {Raina and Danny’s Missoula Engagement Session}
This year Missoula has experienced an exceptionally beautiful autumn - and luckily Raina, Danny and I got to take advantage of all the beautiful colors before the wind swept the leaves off the trees a few days later. We walked around downtown, laughing and chatting, and laughing some more. Giggling, they told me the story of how they met when Raina swiped one of Danny's chicken strips - the rest is history. :) These two are just so utterly in love, and I can tell we're going to have an absolute blast at their wedding next year. Here's to you two, Raina and Danny! And many, many chicken strips to share. ;) On the ...
Colorful Leaves and Starry Montana Skies – {Annie and Josh’s Darby, Montana Engagement Session}
When Annie and I first started talking about me being the photographer for her and Josh's wedding, it was SO great to find out that she's from Wisconsin - because, though I was born in Montana and have spent nearly half my life here, I grew up in Wisconsin and have a special fondness for it in my heart. And fellow Wisconsin people are just kind of awesome. Doncha know. (Sorry - couldn't resist.) I met up with her and Josh at the bed and breakfast they are caretakers of in Darby (such a sweet place!), and Montana was pulling out all the stops for us - blue skies, colorful autumn leaves, golden light....I could go on and on. After ...
An October Kind of Love – {Jennifer and Brian’s Spokane Wedding at the Roberts Mansion}
There is something decidedly romantic about an autumn wedding - especially when it takes place at a gorgeous mansion surrounded by colorful foliage, and really celebrates an intimate ceremony. When I met up with Jennifer and Brian at the Roberts Mansion in Spokane, Washington, sun streamed in through the stained glass windows as Jennifer readied herself to see her groom. And as she stepped out of the mansion doors and he saw her for the first time, his eyes lit up and a big smile spread across his face. Their ceremony was thoughtful, simple and beautiful. The two held each other's hands and looked into one another's eyes as they ...
A Season for Smiles – {The Braun Family’s Missoula Portraits}
Cute kids, golden leaves, happy smiles - that's about the definition of perfection, isn't it? Maddy, Ali, Nick, Rachel and even Sunny the dog, and I all had a great time on a beautiful autumn afternoon making some photos of them together and individual portraits as well. We giggled, we chit chatted, and we definitely laughed. Great job, you guys! Keep those beautiful smiles and laughter coming! :) On the docket: portraits, one last wedding for the year, and more portraits! Don't miss out! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Majestic Maples and Sweet Smiles – {Betsy and Cameron’s Missoula Engagement Session}
As October is wont to do sometimes, the skies threatened rain on Betsy and Cameron's engagement session, but we decided to brave it anyway, and lucky us - the rain stayed away and treated us to some exceptionally beautiful light - only challenged, however, by the absolute happiness radiating from Betsy and Cameron as they looked at one another. Seriously - these two love each other. L. O. V. E. Love. We had so much fun as we trekked about in the woods, laughing our heads off the entire time, and exclaiming at how we are so lucky to live in such a naturally gorgeous place. And I feel pretty darn lucky I get to work with couples as ...
