A warm breeze blew and played with Megan's veil as she saw her groom, Jason, for the first time. They kissed, there were a few teary eyes, and they smiled and hugged as they prepared to walk down the aisle and pledge their love to one another. Friends and family packed the chairs, fanning themselves with programs, and smiled as the wedding party made their way to the altar, and as adorable flower girls and Megan and Jason's dog, Emmi, soon joined them. Megan and her father linked hands, and I'm not sure there was a dry eye there as he gave her away. Tears soon gave way to lots of laughter throughout Megan and Jason's sweet ...
A Fondness for Flathead Lake and a Soft Spot for Horses – {Kristi’s Senior Portraits}
Kristi and her family have been visiting Flathead Lake in Polson for years, and so it was natural that she chose to do her senior portraits in a spot that means a lot to her, and one that not only featured the beauty of the lake and of Montana, but also horses - one of her absolute loves. :) Kristi will be a 2014 senior this year at The Overlake School in Redmond, Washington, and has been checking out the University of Texas and Texas A&M and dreams of going to college to pursue her goal of becoming a veterinarian. She has been working at a vet clinic the last two summers and she even worked at a horse rescue this past year as well. ...
A Lovely Lady, Her Horses and Her Dog – {Marty’s Corvallis, Montana Portrait Session}
I got a note all the way back in December from Emily who was so excited to surprise her twin sister Marty with a Christmas present of a portrait session for her and her four-legged friends, Patches and Cricket, her two horses, and Pele, her trusty dog. Patches and Pele are getting up there in years, so this was especially meaningful for Marty. And it was such a pleasure to photograph this session for Marty and her very well-loved animals. As it turns out, Patches likes to "work it" for the camera (I swear, she struck a few poses for me), and Cricket...well, she'll put up with the shoot, but she gave us some pretty hilarious expressions, ...
Love Beneath the Big Sky – {Brianne and Colin’s Missoula Ranch Club Wedding}
Brianne and Colin - these two are just so dang sweet. From the moment I met them, I adored them both. We had a blast during their engagement session waaaay back in the Montana snowy season, so I knew that their wedding would be even more amazing. And it absolutely was. Brianne's vision turned out beautifully. Even though the day started out with a few sprinkles, the clouds parted to reveal a bright blue sky and set the scene for a day full of happiness and love. Brianne beamed as she walked down the aisle towards Colin, her veil kissing her shoulders as she made her way to her groom. Laughter punctuated their vows and smiles shined ...
Montana Love Bugs – {Jenny and Eddie’s Missoula Wedding at the Ranch Club}
Love bugs - that's Jenny and Eddie's term for one another - and it's also completely accurate. These two are so in love. When they look at each other, you can feel their love for one another from the tips of their toes to the tops of their heads. It's deep, and happy, and lively and romantic and oh-so-present and beautiful and soft...all at the same time. Their wedding exemplified all of that. They chose to start off their day by seeing each other for the first time amongst tall trees and a rushing creek - a favorite place of theirs. Rain sprinkled on and off, but that didn't dampen their spirits one iota. After having a great time ...
Happy in the Hills – {The Roberts Family’s Missoula Photo Session}
I have been wanting to blog the Roberts' family's photo session for a while now since 1. They were a total and complete blast to photograph. 2. We seriously had a gorgeous evening to work with. And 3. Their girls, Landon and Logan made me remember just what is so exceptionally amazing about being a kid. We giggled, we skipped, we got goofy, we ran, we played in the grass, and we made Jill and Dave laugh too. And it was pure beauty. What a treat it was to photograph your family - thank you! Come back and visit again soon! :) On the docket: portraits, weddings, and more portraits! Don't miss out! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Glorious Glacier – {Heather and Matt’s East Glacier Wedding}
Oh Glacier. Glacier Glacier Glacier. There's just something so magical about this place. It twinkles. It sparkles. It intrigues. It awes. And it inspires. Heather and Matt know this firsthand. They've both had a love for Glacier for a while, and Matt even proposed to Heather while visiting the park, so it was only fitting that they join their lives together in such a magical, meaningful place. The morning started out with some fly fishing for the guys in the park, and lots of small brook trout were caught (and released) as we all waded up the creek to Trick Falls. Not a shabby way to start their wedding day! The ladies readied ...
Love on the Lake – {Karen and Robb’s Flathead Lake Lodge Wedding}
If I were given only two words to describe Karen and Robb's wedding at Flathead Lake Lodge in Bigfork, Montana....I'd say: carefree and fun. And happy. And beautiful. And full of love and true emotion. And....well, you get my drift. I can't say enough about how amazing Karen and Robb's wedding was! Karen made her grand entrance in a vintage convertible, and the sun sparkled on the water as the wedding started off with the famous lines from The Princess Bride: "Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam..." which got everyone giggling. The laughter and smiles continued ...
Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries :: The House Family’s Flathead Lake Lifestyle Family Portraits
What's better than Montana's Flathead Lake in the summer? Not much. But... if you add the adorable House family to the mix- Hallie, Ryan and their kiddos Jude, Lyla and Piper....then you've got a recipe for pure sweetness for lifestyle family portraits. I had the pleasure of meeting up with them at their family's lake house on Finley Point to make some fun, spontaneous photos of them as they enjoyed the woods, lake and cherry orchard surrounding the property. We skipped stones, said silly words at the top of our lungs, wiggled our toes in the lapping waves, ran races, rolled around in the soft grass, climbed trees, and ate ripe, juicy ...
Sisterhood – {Jenny and Winny’s Missoula Sister Session}
Probably one of the greatest compliments I can get from a client is to be invited to photograph them multiple times - and I got to do just that with Jenny! Our first session together was for her senior portraits, and this time, before heading out to college, she wanted to do a sister session with her little sister, Winny, as a gift to themselves and to their parents. Such a sweet idea! We had a great time making some fun images for them, and I've got to hand it to these ladies...it was about 99 degrees during our shoot, but you'd never know it by looking at them. We were all pretty hot after our walk around town, but these ladies totally ...
