It was a lovely December day to meet up with Jessica for her model session - and the sun even peeked out for us, too! We had a great time making these images, and even though it was sometimes difficult for Jessica to keep her eyes open in such bright sunlight, she was beyond fantastic. And it was so worth it - I mean - seriously. Look at her eyes in the light...they're incredible! Thanks again, Jessica, for doing such a fabulous job on your shoot! What a wonderful time! :) And first, a little "promo" video of sorts for her - let's just say we had a lot of fun on this shoot. :) On the docket: portraits! Stay ...
Married Amongst the Mountains – {Beth and Andy’s Winter Wedding in Glacier, Montana}
Winter in Glacier is....simply breathtakingly, jaw-droppingly, make-you-weak-in-the-knees GORGEOUS. Beth and Andy's Christmas-time winter wedding in Glacier at the Belton Chalet was no exception. From the fresh snowfall that morning to the rustic charm of the chalet, to the mountains enveloped in fog.....their day. was. INCREDIBLE. In every way. We all had such a blast visiting Lake McDonald, and even though it was pretty dang chilly, that didn't hinder Beth and Andy and their wedding party from being troopers and making some really fun photos. Beth's reaction to the scenery at the lake when we initially arrived was pretty priceless - I'm ...
Kisses Amidst the Evergreens – {Brianne and Colin’s Missoula Engagement Session}
What is it about winter that is just so darn romantic? The magic of the falling snow? The soft needles on the trees? The urge to want to cuddle with the one you love after spending a glorious day outside in the cold? I'm not sure, but there's just something about winter that's truly special. And Brianne and Colin certainly epitomized that in their engagement session! We had SO much fun on their New Years Day shoot, despite the rather chilly temperatures and the challenges of walking through snow in slippery-soled shoes. I swear, we were laughing the entire time and my face hurt after our session because I had been smiling so much. That's ...
A Walk in the Snow – {A Wintry Missoula Family Session}
It was one heck of a snowy, cold day for Megan's family's photo session - but seriously. It was downright gorgeous. I mean....what better than fluffy, white snow and lovely smiling faces? Megan and her husband braved the cold temps (since they were visiting Missoula from a warm 75 degree Arizona), and even though we were all a bit on the chilly side, we had a great time walking through this winter wonderland. Megan, it was so nice meeting your family and your mother's friend, too. What a fun time - and memorable! :) On the docket: portraits and the last 2012 wedding of the season! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Skips and Smiles – {The Hand Family’s Missoula Family Session}
I had such a nice time meeting the Hand family the other day for the sweet family session - they were gifted the session by Brian's sister, and I had such a great time making these images for them. It was a bit of a chilly day, but luckily we managed to sneak in our session before the first snowfall. Melissa, Brian, Emerson and Gavin - you all are absolutely delightful, and it was such a treat to make these photos for you! :) On the docket: portraits and weddings! Cheers, -Kristine ...
A Simple Snowstorm – {Missoula’s first snow of December 2012}
Is there anything more serene or magical than watching snow fall at night? We had a little storm a couple of days ago in Missoula that blanketed our town with about 7 inches of beautiful, fluffy snow. I couldn't help but document it in a simple video and as a still photo, too. Check out the small slices of the evening below - the first is the final photo; the second is the behind-the-scenes video. (To watch it in HD, which makes a huge difference in viewing quality, hover over the video, click the HD button at the bottom right and click the corresponding link that pops up.) Enjoy! Thanksgiving Family Fun! – {Western Montana Family Portraits}
So....I'm not sure there's anything better than meeting past bride's and groom's adorable little babies - and that certainly was the case when I met up with Nicole, Jason, their twin babies Walker and Gia, and Nicole's sister and brother and their families for their Thanksgiving get-together outside of Missoula, at the ranch Nicole and Jason celebrated their wedding day. (You might recognize Nicole and Jason from the cover of the Brides and Grooms magazine a few years back.) It was so nice to see everyone again and meet such sweet little bundles of cute! We all had a great time being goofy for the babies and walking around the ranch a bit ...

Senior Style – {Sentinel High School, Class of 2013 Senior, Jenny}
I think Jenny and I experienced about every type of weather Montana could throw at us during her senior session - wonderfully warm sun, dark, overcast skies, rain and then an all out snow storm! We had a blast through it all, and Jenny was so much fun to work with. She enjoys art, math and science and was such a natural in front of the camera. Congrats again, Jenny, on your senior year! And thanks for braving all of Montana's crazy weather with me! :) On the docket: portraits, weddings and more portraits! Stay tuned! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Laughter and Snowflakes – {Sentinel High School, Class of 2013 Senior, Shayla}
It was one frigid day when Shayla and I met up to make her senior pictures - gorgeous, but cold! We dodged snowflakes like nobody's business and ducked into buildings to get warm, but you wouldn't know it from Shayla's cheerful smile, bright eyes, and infectious laughter. We giggled and talked and I learned that Shayla loves to laugh (but we had already figured that out ;) ), is a huge fan of bright colors and really enjoys math, music and photography. She's thinking about going to Montana State and is contemplating studying Psychology or Zoology. Shayla, congrats again on your senior year! With your positive attitude, you're going to ...
