Warm sun, blowing snow, zippy little breezes, and blue sky! - we got a bit of each of these during Lisa and John's Missoula engagement photo session the other day. But no matter what Montana's mother nature wanted to throw at us, Lisa and John rolled with it and had a blast to boot! I'm not sure we really even stopped laughing during our entire session we had such a good time. Lisa and John really are two peas in a pod - they know how to have fun and they aren't afraid to show it. Thanks again for such an awesome session - I cannot wait to photograph your wedding this summer! To the photos! On the docket: ...
Kite Flying! – {Cannon Beach Just Because Session}
Oceans and kites and sun and wind - there really might not be a better combination. I joined Kirk and Katie for a trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon, for their fun little "just because" session. The day was sublime - and Kirk and Katie definitely made the most of the wind and had fun flying their kite high into the blue sky. We also stumbled across some long, snake-like bull kelp (I think that's what it's called, but if not, please correct me!), which happened to be just perfect for creating ridiculously cool shapes when snapped. (Kirk and Katie happened to make some pretty sweet hearts.) Thanks, you two! On the docket: portrait ...
Traipsing through the Woods – {Charity and Matt’s Missoula Engagement}
I met up with Charity and Matt the other day for their engagement session out in the woods. Amazingly enough, being that it's near the end of March, we were still able to find some snow - hooray! We had a lovely time walking and talking and catching some very sweet moments between these two. The sun even peeked out for a bit! Thanks so much, C and M! Kisses in the Snow – {Katherine and Mike’s Missoula Engagement}
Missoula has gotten a lot of snow this winter - and Katherine, Mike, their black lab, Buck, and I all found this out during their lovely engagement session. We had so much fun making some fun images for the two of them. Katherine and Mike are so warm and smiley, and very obviously in love with one another - I found myself grinning non-stop during their session. We all had some good laughs upon literally stumbling across some snow pack that was over our knees. Thanks again for being so gung-ho about everything, you two! I cannot *wait* for your wedding this summer! On the docket: engagement sessions and a video about pie ...
Wordless Wednesday – {LunaFest Missoula}
Ok, so I'm veering a bit from a traditional Wordless Wednesday post and instead want to give a shout out to LunaFest, which is taking place Wednesday, March 16th at the Wilma Theater in downtown Missoula to help benefit the YWCA of Missoula. What is LunaFest, you ask? To quote from the Missoula LunaFest's website: LUNAFEST was established in 2000 by LUNA, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, to simultaneously promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for women’s issues, and support worthy women’s nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada. LUNAFEST is completely funded by LUNA and run by a small, dedicated group ...
Vegetable Bouquet – {Wordless Wednesday}
I make a lot of photos that don't actually end up on the blog. A lot of them are just for fun, some just don't fit in the space I allot myself, and....oh, I don't know. I get busy and just don't post them. But, I've decided to remedy that by doing a Wordless Wednesday post each week. I'll be blogging one image or series of images, with little to no explanation needed. For the very first Worldess Wednesday, I'm sharing the following...... { Vegetable Bouquet } Cheers! -Kristine ...
Laughter and Hugs! – {Missoula Family Portrait Session}
I met up with this lovely family the other day for a session so fun, I'm not sure we stopped laughing! A warm drizzle came down, but this didn't stop anyone from smiling as we trekked about, played hide and seek, even threw a few snowballs. Thank you so much, all of you! Sweet On Each Other – {Leanna and Skyler’s Missoula Engagement Session}
Leanna and Skyler are wonderfully sweet people. And very much sweet on one another as well. In fact, speaking of sweet, they're high school sweethearts! These two are such a great pair and we had such an enjoyable time crunching through the snow to make some fun images for their engagement session. We even managed to dodge some impending raindrops! Thank you so much Leanna and Skyler - I am so looking forward to photographing your wedding this summer! On the docket: family sessions! Cheers! -Kristine ...
Dreaming Big – {Shea’s Class of 2011 Senior Photos}
Such a fantastic day for Shea's senior session - we had beautiful blue skies and warm sun for our outdoor shoot. Shea is a senior at Florence-Carlton High School, and has great aspirations for his life after graduation. He's going to college to study perhaps neurobiology, perhaps physics - the world is his oyster. And this young man is going to go places - I can just feel it! Thank you so much, Shea, for such a great session! I truly mean it when I say you're going places - you've got a great attitude and I know you'll excel in your college pursuits. All the best to you in your final few months as a senior! On the docket: ...
Snow and Smiles – {Cross Country Skiing Portrait Session}
I was lucky enough to be able to make the sojourn to Wisconsin for a brief visit over Christmas to spend time with my parents, my brother and some wonderful friends. It's nice to make the trip since I grew up in Wisconsin, but my true home is Montana, which is where I was born. It's why I've spent my entire adult life pursuing these roots, which I'm so glad to say have happily landed here for a good while now. But it's always bittersweet to go back to Wisconsin, because, though I love it there, my parents dearly wish they were out west as well, closer to my brother and me. However, my family always has a blast when we're together - our ...
