Sydney's senior portraits in Missoula Montana were so much fun to make for her, especially since she currently lives in Seattle, but has Montana roots that she wanted to make sure came out in her senior photos. It was a pretty chilly and windy day for Sydney's session, but she totally braved the cold (and even hopped in some pretty frigid water!) for her shoot as her mom and Grandma cheered her on. We had such a fun time during her session, and Sydney certainly did great in front of the camera - can you believe that her long lashes are all natural! (Women everywhere, be ready to be a bit envious!) As we wandered from location to ...
Eric :: Senior Pictures in Missoula Montana
Making Eric's senior pictures in Missoula Montana was such a pleasure. We had a great time hanging out with this two dogs and then decided to wander around his neighborhood to make images for him in some of his favorite places. While we were walking around, Eric, a senior at Hellgate High School, told me that he plays hockey, lacrosse and even surfs. He said he's been playing hockey since he was 4 (impressive!), and is hoping to continue hockey in college, too. (He's looking at attending school in Arizona.) We talked about some additional interests of his, and Eric mentioned that he's also particularly taken by numbers. Currently he's ...
Nick :: Downtown Urban Senior Photos in Missoula Montana
Meeting up with Nick for his short and sweet downtown urban senior photos in Missoula Montana was such a pleasure - Nick's one nice young man and is a senior at Big Sky this year, dedicating much of his time to his pursuits of football, basketball and track. As we wandered around downtown Missoula, he told me a little more about his ideal plans after graduation from Big Sky. He's excited to be graduating and is thinking about attending a school either on the east or west coasts (since he really loves both) and is considering studying business, finance or marketing. Nick - it was so nice to meet you and make these photos of you for your ...
Westin :: Senior Photos in Downtown Missoula Montana
Westin's senior photos in downtown Missoula Montana were such a pleasure to make. We had a great time wandering all over town, making sure to highlight some of Westin's favorite things, including his love of football and tennis. Westin's a senior at Sentinel and is such a nice young man with great ambitions. Currently he's taking quite a few AP classes, and really loves math and science. He also enjoys writing. When I asked Westin about his plans for after high school, he told me that he's got great goals to pursue a degree in bio engineering with the ultimate goal of attending medical school and subsequently focusing on sports ...
Johren :: Senior Pictures in Missoula Montana
Right off the bat I knew I'd love working with Johren for her senior pictures in Missoula Montana - she was so enthusiastic and excited about her session, and, to top it off, she's got a fantastic personality. This all totally shined through in our session, and we had a great time wandering around downtown to find little pockets of color and texture - quite a bit of a difference from Johren's hometown in Sidney, Montana! Johren is bubbly, has an amazing connection with the camera, and a smile that is genuine and happy. She's also got a great drive in life, and her latest achievement is being named a Montana officer for Business ...
Fritz, Alison, Harry and CeCe :: Family Portraits in Potomac Montana
I always love getting to make portraits of families at their homes, so when Fritz, Alison, Harry and CeCe invited me to photograph their family portraits in Potomac Montana at their home, I was pretty darn excited. It ended up being a really rainy day (in Missoula the skies were dark and stormy and it poured on me as I drove out to Potomac). We were a little nervous we'd have to be dodging raindrops, but the storm skirted around their home and we were even treated to some truly gorgeous light as our session moved along. Always a nice little bonus! We all had such a fun time walking through the woods, scouting out the best flowers and ...
Courtney + Branden :: Missoula Courthouse Wedding
I was so happy to hear from Courtney when she called me up to ask me about photographing her Missoula courthouse wedding because 1) she was just so darn excited! And 2) I'd met her originally at Michelle and Dave's wedding last year where she was a bridesmaid, and I knew that we'd have a wonderful time getting to work with each other again - this time at her own wedding to Branden! Courtney told me that she really loves the architecture of the courthouse, so we all had a good time making images out front and inside of the building. And I've got to say, Courtney's two kids, Tony and Avery, are just the sweetest! Soon it was time for ...
Keegan, Anze and Mikko :: Missoula Father and Son Portraits
I was so happy to hear from Keegan when he contacted me about having Missoula father and son portraits made with his boys, Anze and Mikko. There's just something so special about the connection between a dad and his boys, and I'm so glad he wanted to document it. Anze and Mikko (and Keegan too, of course!) were such troopers and we had a great time searching the river for fishies, racing through the grass, making wishes on flowers, and hunting for grasshoppers (that Anze very successfully found!). The boys loved getting tickles from their dad and each other, Anze made sure Mikko didn't actually eat any of the pine needles he was trying so ...
Shannon + Jud :: Stone Tower Estate Wedding in Stevensville Montana
After such an amazing/fun/unique engagement session with Shannon and Jud this past autumn, I knew their Stone Tower Estate wedding in Stevensville Montana would be equally as wonderful. And, no surprise, they didn't disappoint in the least. Shannon and Jud started off their day with a really fun first look (Jud's expression is just SO great!), and then we had fun making portraits with the two of them and their bridal party. And by fun, I mean LOTS of fun. Shannon, Jud and their friends and family are a great group and they definitely had themselves a good time as we made images together. (I'd also like to "shout out" the old chairs from ...
Zoe :: Seeley Lake Montana Senior Photos and Family Session
It's always so nice to photograph in locations that hold meaning to the people whose portraits I'm making, and it was especially fun for Zoe's Seeley Lake Montana senior photos since we got to photograph at her great grandparents' property in Seeley Lake. We started out our evening by making some sunny family portraits while everybody was together, and then off we dashed to the old barn to start Zoe's session. We had such a blast poking around that delightfully worn structure, balancing on fences, and Zoe even perched atop the ranch's old orange Chevrolet truck, too! (The color-lover in me was darn excited!) I loved that Zoe had so many ...
