In case you weren't aware, tonight people around the world were treated to both a super moon and an eclipse, which created a "blood moon" effect. I ventured out with some friends to grab a few shots and ended up making this mini time lapse. It's nothing spectacular since I was just doing this for fun, but I thought I'd share anyway. Can you see the little shooting star on the far right? I hope you all got out to see it as well - our world (and out of this world) is pretty darn great, don't you think? Cheers! -Kristine ...
Sean :: Senior Photos along the River in Lolo Montana
When I heard that Sean was interested in having me do his senior photos, I knew we'd have a great session. A couple years ago, his sister Katie and I had had such a wonderful time during her senior session, and I still recall just how fun it was to run through the fields and chase the light with her. :) Sean's session was just as fantastic. He picked our location in Lolo because he's spent quite a bit of time down by the river throwing sticks for his dog, Jake. Jake even got to come along for Sean's shoot, and made a few cameo appearances as well. We had such a fun time wandering the trails by the river, cracking up at Jake and his ...
Kaeleigh :: Missoula Montana Senior Pictures in the Forest
It was so nice to meet up with Kaeleigh and her most excellent personal assistants (thanks, Kaeleigh's family!) for her Missoula Montana senior pictures. We found some gorgeous filtered light streaming down through the forest trees, and had a great time laughing and meandering through the woods to make Kaeleigh's photos. This setting fit perfectly with a few of Kaeleigh's favorite interests, which are the environment and biology. But when Kaeleigh's not out enjoying the beauty of the natural world, she really likes to bake, and cookies are her absolute favorite thing to make. Kaeleigh - thanks again for a wonderful session and ...
Kelci + Michael :: Missoula Montana Heritage Hall Wedding
Kelci and Michael's Missoula Montana Heritage Hall wedding was fairytale-esque in so many ways - from the golden smoky light to Kelci's gorgeous gown to her glass slippers - but most importantly, it felt like a fairytale because she and Michael both found their respective prince charming and princess and are head over heels in love. This was particularly evident during their especially sweet first look as both teared up a little upon seeing each other for the first time that day. Happy tears continued to make their appearance during their vows, which were punctuated frequently with smiles and laughter. Kelci and Michael sealed their ...
Tiffany + Christian :: Missoula Montana Couple’s Portrait Session
I'm always a fan of those who are fans of water. There's something about a rushing creek that just makes me happy, especially the clear and crisp Montana streams that are plentiful and gorgeous. Tiffany and Christian also appreciate the beauty found in water, and really, all around our pretty state, so it was important to them that we be able to capture that in their Missoula Montana couple's portrait session while they were here visiting from Texas. We had to deal with some smoky, slightly apocalyptic skies, but that didn't keep us from having a great time wandering through the woods, wading in the water, and really enjoying making ...
Daniella + Rob :: Missoula Montana Rock the Dress Photo Session
Rock the dress sessions are always such a blast for me to photograph, and they're even better when you get to work with a couple like Daniella and Rob who were both just so completely stoked to 1) be in Montana. And 2) to get to just have fun! They traveled all the way here from New Jersey, and totally rocked their Missoula Montana rock the dress photo session, despite the massive amounts of smoke that had poured into the valley from all the wildfires we've been experiencing in the west this summer. (I promise, Daniella and Rob, there really are mountains out there!) Even with all that smoke, I'd be lying if I said it didn't lend an ...
The Westman Family :: Missoula Family Portraits
When Jen contacted me about setting up Missoula family portraits as a surprise gift for her parents' anniversary, I was excited to make it happen! I'm a huge fan of surprises, and love getting to be a part of such a cool gift. I'm a little biased, of course, but what a great gift to both give and receive - and it's something that everyone will be able to enjoy, both now and for years to come. The day arrived for their family portraits, and it was such a treat to meet Jen's family and make these images for them. They were so great to work with, weren't bothered by the smoky skies, and generally just had a grand old time! We laughed so much, ...
Sarah + Matt :: Engagement Photos in Missoula Montana
Originally Sarah and Matt's engagement photos in Missoula Montana were scheduled for the day of that super-major-holy-moly-intense windstorm...thankfully we rescheduled to a couple days after, and I'm SO glad we did. Not only did we get to avoid those 74 mile-an-hour winds, but we were privy to a pretty darn gorgeous evening (including a spectacular sunset!). We had such a good time wandering and chatting as we made their photos, and thanks to Sarah's lightning-quick reaction time, we also managed to avoid a little skunk who had been thinking about meandering across our path (he ran off in the other direction - and if you haven't ever seen ...
Megan + Scott :: Missoula Montana Rock the Dress Anniversary Session
When Megan contacted me about doing a Missoula Montana rock the dress session with her and her husband, Scott, I admittedly got a little nervous - it's not every day you photograph other photographers (they are the couple behind Megan Lane Photography out of Helena). But they were so excited and so gung ho about doing this to celebrate their upcoming 11th anniversary (yay, you two!), I knew it was silly of me to be nervous, and more importantly, that we'd have a great time making these images. Plus, it's always fun to work with folks who've got a vision for how they'd like their photos to look (magical, fairytale, editorial - yahoo!). And ...
Colleen + Colin :: Missoula Montana Engagement Photography
When Colleen and Colin met up with me to talk about having me photograph their Missoula Montana engagement photography session, I knew we'd have a great time making images together - these two are so happy, so sweet together, and truly do epitomize the meaning of love. We had such a wonderful time wandering the golden fields, laughing and chatting the entire time. They insisted they weren't used to being in front of the camera, but these two were naturals! Mother Nature also behaved herself for us, treating Colleen and Colin to perfect temps, and, if you look closely, you might even see a cloud in the shape of heart - ...
