I love color unabashedly. If you follow my work, it's probably fairly obvious how much I love color. I love it even more so when it grows wild and oh-so-incredibly-beautifully. Seriously - it's amazing what our world gives us to feast our eyes upon. So, today's Wordless Wednesday comes from a recent mountaintop stroll of mine: {Nature's Paint Palette - A Study in Wildflowers} On the docket: weddings and engagement sessions! Yippee! Cheers! -Kristine ...
Everybody Needs A Little Sun – {Wordless Wednesday}
The other day I was out on a session with a client and she spotted this little guy sunbathing. Who says humans are the only ones who sunbathe? :) {Sunbathing Squirrel} Cheers! -Kristine ...
A Colorful Love – {Cassie and Cameron’s Missoula Engagement Session}
Cassie and Cameron joined me Saturday at the Missoula's farmer's market, dressed for spring and ready to stroll around checking out the local goods. Lucky for us, the rain decided to hold off and we had a great time making fun, bright images of these two - you would never know how chilly it was from Cassie and Cameron's warm smiles and the love in their eyes. I'm so looking forward to your wedding this June! (And the bunnies!) On the docket: more engagement sessions! Cheers! -Kristine ...
Springing into their Future Together – {Daisy and Erik’s Missoula Wedding}
Daisy and Erik couldn't have had better springtime weather for their simple and sweet outdoor wedding at Fort Missoula and their lively reception at both the Loft and Stensrud building in Missoula. Clouds threatened rain, but it held off, giving Daisy and Erik two perfect days to spend with family and friends. (And lots and lots of cake - I like the way they think!) Cribbage made its way into their vows (remember their engagement session?), as did laughter and a few tears. But mostly there were smiles and excitement and of course, lots and lots of love. Thanks so much, you two! You are going to have a beautiful life together - I wish ...
Portraits for her Profession – {Erika’s Headshots}
I met up with Erika the other day to make a few headshots for her new business cards (you might remember Erika from the session I did last autumn with her and her daughter). Luckily for us, the weather was perfect and we were able to create some shiny new portraits for Erika's new job. Thanks again Erika! It was so nice to chat with you and see you again! Can't wait for some more family portraits this summer! :) On the docket: engagement sessions! Cheers! -Kristine ...
Green Investment Group Acquires Old Smurfit-Stone Site – {Missoula Editorial & Commercial Photography}
Getting back to my photojournalism roots a bit, last week I was hired by Cork Tree Creative to photograph a press conference with Governor Brian Schweitzer and Ray Stillwell at the old Smurfit-Stone mill site to announce Green Investment Group, Inc.'s (GIGI) acquisition of the site. This is the seventh Smurfit-Stone paper mill acquired since 2006 by GIGI, an Alton, Illinois-based company that acquires and redevelops Brownfield sites throughout North America. (A Brownfield site is an abandoned or underutilized industrial or commercial site that is well-positioned for redevelopment.) Plans for the future use of the Missoula site are ...
Parents! – {Wordless Wednesday}
My folks were in town a week or so ago, so we spent as much time as we could getting out and about. I think they're beautiful people, inside and out, so I always try to make a few portraits of them when they're around. {Parents!} On the docket: engagement sessions! Cheers! -Kristine ...
Saturday Traditions – {Daisy and Erik’s Missoula Engagement Session}
Weekend traditions are always so nice - and Daisy and Erik's tradition is to visit the farmer's market in downtown Missoula, grab some coffee, check out what the market has to offer and then hop on over to Caffe Dolce to indulge in some breakfast, more coffee, conversation and cribbage. I was fortunate enough to be able to join them this past Saturday for their engagement session incorporating their favorite Saturday morning things. Thanks for traipsing about with me, Daisy and Erik, and for a pleasant breakfast as well. :) Can't wait to photograph your wedding in just a couple weeks! On the docket: More ...
Raising Piglets – {Collin’s Missoula Senior Portrait Session}
It's not every day that you meet someone so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about raising pigs, since so many of us haven't set foot on a farm in who-knows-how-long. But that I did when I joined Collin and his mom at the pig barn to greet his four favorite piglets that he's raising as a part of FFA (Future Farmers of America). Collin and his mom, Anna Marie, have a special bond with these piglets, as they both helped birth them and ensure safe passage into their new world. And they also have a fondness for the farm, too - as Collin told me, it's one of his favorite places. Which is truly evident - he's at home, relaxed and confident next to ...
Rockin’ Recessionistas, Take Two – {YWCA Missoula Fashion Shoot}
I had the pleasure of photographing another Recessionista shoot for the Missoula YWCA the other day (though I think Bradley may prefer the term "Recessionist-O"), with fab volunteer models, Bradley and Sara. (Our first shoot was featured a few months ago.) We were going for a bit more of a springtime theme this time around, and had a great time making some fun images for campaigns you'll see around Missoula establishments. And remember, these clothes came straight from Secret Seconds shops around Missoula, so pop on in, get yourself some new springtime duds, and do the YWCA a favor, too! All sales at YWCA Secret Seconds help women and ...
