I joined the Bertrand family at the Paws Up Ranch just outside of Missoula for a little trek across the grounds to make some family photos for them while they were visiting Montana from Georgia. And I've got to say - what a blast! We had so much fun - from stick races in the river, to the boys leaping over one another to a family skipping sessionĀ - it was, hands down, awesome! Thank you again, Bertrands, for having me meet up with you while you were in town. It was so wonderful to meet you all - you are truly a gorgeous family, inside and out, and I'm STILL smiling my face off looking through your photos. :) I hope you enjoyed the rest of ...
Golden Grasses and Sun-Kissed Love – {Pauline and Kevin’s Missoula Wedding}
When I first talked with Kevin and Pauline over the phone together, I could tell these two are a perfect pair. So sweet, so kind and so full of love for one another. To see this in person was absolutely beautiful, as they both were positively glowing throughout their ceremony, sneaking smiles and loving glances at one another as they vowed their hearts to one another for eternity. Smiles were temporarily traded for tears as friends and family toasted to their love with such emotion, their voices quavered. And the sun must have sensed the brilliance of Kevin and Pauline's love, because it wrapped its golden glow around them and lit up the ...
Twinkling Lights and Sparkling Smiles – {Maggie and Tyler’s Missoula Ranch Wedding}
Maggie and Tyler's wedding at Tyler's family's ranch was downright gorgeous - the sun was shining, a slight breeze cooled everyone off and guests' smiles were abundant. I'm not sure there was a dry eye in the house as Maggie and Tyler vowed their love to one another under the big sky. Those tears were happy ones, and quickly changed to all sorts of laughter and rollicking good fun. Guests played croquet, dined on scrumptious Greek food prepared by Maggie's grandmother, and giggled as they took turns in the photo booth and on the dance floor, under twinkling strings of lights. Maggie and Tyler - you two are, hands down, amazing, and made ...
Splish Splashing! – {The Chandler’s Flathead Lake Family Session}
Could there be anything better than spending time on Flathead Lake? I'm pretty sure that the lake is a recipe for paradise. And the Chandler family enjoys a piece of this every summer at their family's Flathead Lake cabin. I met up with them there to document their 7-month-old daughter, Marianne's, first time at the lake, and make some fun images of them hanging out and doing their thing. Marianne showed us all how best to munch on rocks and mangoes, how to splash in the lake properly, and how to grin so adults hearts melt (I know mine certainly did!). :) Thank you so much for inviting me to spend a little time with you all and capture ...
Bright Colors and Bright Smiles – {Rebecca’s Class of 2013 Senior Session}
Rebecca, her mom and I met up the other day to take advantage of some great light and have a blast making photos for Rebecca's senior year at Hellgate High School in Missoula. Rebecca is big into music, and really loves the piano (a girl after my own heart! I love the piano too), so we incorporated that into our shoot. She's also a fan of swings, the outdoors, and bright colors, and we had a great time playing around with all of these ideas and some bright color combos that popped and really highlighted her gorgeous smile and sparkling eyes. Rebecca - I had SO much fun making these images for you! Here's to a great year ahead and many ...
Wedding Glory in Glacier – {Dusty and Tom’s West Glacier, Montana Wedding}
If you've never been to Glacier National Park in Montana....get yourself there! It's truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. And Dusty and Tom chose to be married right outside of it to celebrate their wedding day in one of their most favorite places. Glacier lived up to its majesty for their incredibly beautiful wedding - fluffy clouds meandered through the sky, the sun shined brilliantly, making everything glow and sparkle, only rivaled by everyone's smiling faces as Dusty and Tom vowed to love one another for eternity. The wedding party also took advantage of what the park has to offer and zipped on over to Lake McDonald in ...
Family Fun on the Lake – {Seeley Lake 40th Anniversary Family Session}
I had such a great time the other day zipping up to Placid Lake to make portraits for this lovely family celebrating their mom and dad's 40th anniversary. (Side note: congrats again to you both - that's wonderful!) We had a blast making images on the lake, in the woods and down the path by their cabin in the woods. Thank you again for having me document this stage in all your lives - it was so wonderful to meet you and I hope you all had a relaxing vacation! On the docket: weddings, portraits and more weddings! Cheers, -Kristine ...
Love Under the Big Sky – {Molly and Andy’s Grey Wolf Ranch Wedding}
The Big Sky state was in full-on awesome mode for Molly and Andy's gorgeous Montana wedding near Placid Lake. Fluffy clouds rolled on through the blue sky, the sun shined down brilliantly and Montana seemed to be celebrating Molly and Andy's wedding day just as much as they and their friends and family were. Guests sipped on drinks from their very own personalized mason jars as they witnessed Molly and Andy vowing their love to one another, tears pricked people's eyes as beautiful emotions sprang forth, and laughter was always quick to surface. Little kiddos had a blast using the grounds as a giant playfield, hugs were given freely and ...
Kisses in the Country – {Sarah and Neil’s Seeley Lake Wedding}
Sarah and Neil traveled all the way from Alaska to get married at Montana Pines Hideaway, a picturesque spot on Seeley Lake that Sarah's family owns. Sarah walked down the aisle naturally created by historic buildings on the property as friends and family watched, many with a tear or two in their eye, especially after the two read their handwritten vows to one another, voices quavering with emotion. Afterwards, guests enjoyed a scrumptious dinner put together by friends and family, and enjoyed a pretty great cake smash followed by lively music. Sarah, and Neil - thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer - it was an ...
From the South to the West – {Mike and Emily’s Conrad, Montana Farm Wedding}
Sweet and Sincere. Two words that describe Mike and Emily's wedding in Conrad, Montana to a tee. Emily and Mike ventured to Montana for their wedding day all the way from Tennessee. Emily is originally from South Carolina, but spent many a summer in Conrad at her aunt and uncle's farm. More recently, Mike proposed to her there, so it was meant to be to have their wedding celebration at the farm in Conrad. The day couldn't have been more beautiful. Gray clouds streaked the sky, and left more than a few of us wondering if we might have a bit of a wet ceremony, but lo and behold! the sun peeped out just as Mike walked down the aisle to ...
