On another one of my photo adventures with my visiting brother, we checked out the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge. I'd never been before, and it was definitely worth the trip. It's a gorgeous spot with all sorts of bird activity. I should mention, I love birds. LOVE 'em. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that I grew up with canaries as pets and have two pet birds of my own (Flash the parrotlet and Mozart the canary). Or my love for them could be because they're just so darn cool. Don't tell me you aren't envious of their wings and ability to fly! Anyway, these are some of my favorite photos from our excursion - enjoy! The ...
Springtime in Missoula!
I was walking back from a meeting downtown today and happened upon this gorgeous, flowery little bush and had to stop and take some pictures. I wish Missoula had more of these beauties! (I'd love to do a photo shoot amongst some flowering trees - does anyone know where a group of them are?) Anyway, just thought I'd share. Oh, and I thought you all might enjoy this happy little robin, too. (I photographed him last week in the evening.) Cheers! -Kristine ...
Missoula engagement “save the date” video
I'm so excited! I finally get to announce one of my newest options available to those of you out there who are planning on getting married - save the date engagement videos! (And, hey, if you're not getting married and you want one "just because," that's awesome, too!) Take a peek at the one I created for Panika and Austin, whose photos have graced this blog in two previous posts (this post and this post). We had a lot of fun with this video and made it in between making engagement photos. I hope you enjoy it - feel free to share with friends. :) And remember, I'm based out of Montana, but I'll travel, too. (And enjoy it!) (P.S. the ...
Where the deer and the antelope play :: Visiting the National Bison Range in Montana
I took a little trip the other day to the National Bison Range since I'd never actually been before. (Shame, shame!) Since it's not tourist season yet, it was pretty quiet up there, but that made the trip so nice. Meadowlarks sang their pretty little songs, the bison munched on grass and pronghorn antelope used teasle to scratch the things that itched. It's gorgeous at the range - stunning mountainous backdrops, rolling hills...all good stuff. Anyone want to do a photo shoot there? :) Ok - now for the pics. Enjoy! Also, coming up on the blog: a recipe for hummus that's downright addictive! Plus, more fun stuff, ...
Lisa :: Autumn Rock the Dress in Missoula, Montana
Take me to the river...Dip me in the water... Lisa did more than "dip in the water" during our Trash the Dress session last Friday. She reclined in it, and managed not to freeze! Her photos are absolutely stunning, and I cannot wait to hear what her husband has to say about his present! It was really a blast photographing for Lisa. Her mom came as well (and did a great job keeping Lisa's cute lab, Bailey, in line) and we all had our fair share of laughs. (In case you are just stumbling across this and haven't read previous posts - Lisa chose to do a Trash the Dress session a year after her wedding day, as a one-year ...
Bucking broncos :: Missoula’s Western Montana Fair
I went to the fair in Missoula a week (or was it a couple weeks?) ago and had tickets to go to the rodeo with my boyfriend and a very good, old friend from my days in the midwest. It was pretty great - I haven't been to a rodeo since I was a wee thing passing through Jackson Hole - and I figured I'd take my camera along just for the heck of it. Disclaimer: I wasn't shooting as a press photographer so I didn't have the freedom to move around the arena, but I think some of these shots are kinda cool. Have fun checking them out! It's almost as if he's levitating. Check out the air this bronco got! Finally, the light became ...
Montana Food Bank Network’s Canstruction Event
The last couple days have been a bit hectic, but it's been great. I was busy helping out the Montana Food Bank Network cover their Canstruction event held at Southgate Mall in Missoula. Canstruction, if you haven't heard of this before, is an event where teams work to create and build structures out of cans. Various local organizations are paired up with architects and compete against one another for awards. All the cans of food are donated to the Montana Food Bank Network after the competition has ended. It was pretty cool to see what the teams came up with, and even more fun to see how much everyone was enjoying themselves. Very ...
