After a couple years of planning and several delays (you know, because pandemic times), I was beyond delighted to document Matthew and Andrew's Woodson Ranch Wedding in Sheridan Montana. Not only is the ranch absolutely gorgeous, it's also incredibly special to Matthew and his family. His grandfather purchased the ranch when he was born and his family has been running it ever since as part of the Ruby Habitat Foundation (which is super cool — check it out!). Matthew spent three summers working on the ranch, as well as many summers visiting it. After having met Andrew, they would visit the ranch often. And, in fact, they even got engaged ...
Alena + Dan :: Springtime Missoula Mountainside Wedding
Though Alena and Dan's springtime Missoula mountainside wedding was smaller than planned due to Covid-19-related restrictions, it was still such a beautiful day for these two! The mountains and valley provided the perfect backdrop, wildflowers swayed in the breeze, and the clouds upped their drama factor for the day. They married at Alena's parents' home, and started the day off helping each other get ready, with lots of laughs and smiles as they navigated their way through tying Dan's bowtie. Before long, it was time to officially say their "I Do's" (which were being live-streamed for friends and family who couldn't make it to Montana ...
Rilee + Nick :: Intimate Rainy Missoula Wedding
Rilee and Nick had to postpone their their original, large wedding due to the pandemic, so instead they downsized in 2020 and embraced their intimate rainy Missoula wedding - mega party to be had in 2021! And what a gorgeous, magical day it was for them, even in spite of the rain! They had an emotional set of first looks - with each other, and then with Rilee and her dad. The rain quickly began to move in, so a few of us hung out under a gigantic tree that was perfectly placed right near their ceremony site as their guests began to stroll through a field of spring wildflowers. Soon it was time to get things started, and Rilee made ...
Alexis + Joe :: Bowman Lake Elopement in Glacier National Park
It was one heckuva gorgeous Montana day for Alexis and Joe's Bowman Lake elopement in Glacier National Park. We had a bluebird sky above, pristine reflections on the lake in front of us, and oh so much sun! Suffice it to say, Montana really pulled out all the stops for Alexis and Joe's special day! These two originally met in Denver at a bluegrass show and moved to Missoula a little over two years ago. Because they love their time in the outdoors (camping and hiking especially), Joe proposed to Alexis in Glacier. So it was particularly fitting that they tied the knot there, too! We started out the day by meeting up at their Air BnB just ...
Rilee + Nick :: Colorful Autumn Engagement Photos
It was so fun to photograph Rilee and Nick's colorful autumn engagement photos - not only because we timed our session perfectly and were treated to some absolutely brilliant yellows oranges and reds, but because these two are just a blast to work with! I'd photographed Nick's older brother Jamie's wedding a few years earlier, so when Rilee and Nick contacted me about doing their engagement and wedding photos I knew we'd click (no pun intended!). As was standard for this year, we had some rain clouds threatening in the background as well as a few raindrops to start out our session. But thankfully the impending storm skirted around us and ...
Kelsey + Sam ::Â Moon Randolph Homestead Wedding
We were all watching the weather forecast and the skies leading up to Kelsey and Sam's Moon Randolph Homestead wedding because a winter storm was brewing (in September of all things!), and no one quite knew what Mother Nature would surprise us with. Thankfully we managed to avoid the snow until later in the evening, but Kelsey and Sam's wedding has got to go down in history as one of the coldest weddings I've ever photographed in September! (If I recall correctly, I think the windchill had the temps feeling like the teens to low 20's! Brrr!) Despite the chill, Kelsey and Sam absolutely made the most of their day (and the lack of snow!), ...
Michele + Philip :: Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort Wedding
When Michele and I talked on the phone about her Quinn's Hot Springs Resort wedding to her love, Philip, I knew we'd have a wonderful time working together and capturing all the excitement and happiness of their wedding day. (Fun fact: they actually met five years ago to the day they decided to get married!) Michele and Philip currently live in Nevada, but chose Montana as their place to tie the know because Philip's family is from Superior. And it couldn't have been a a more gorgeous Montana day for them! After some final last touches during the getting ready process, it was time for their ceremony to start! Michele walked down the ...
Laura + Melinda :: Holland Lake Lodge Wedding
As seems to be the theme of this year in Montana, it was a little bit of a rainy day for Laura and Melinda's Holland Lake Lodge wedding. However, Mother Nature played nicely with us and decided to treat us to some sun just as the ceremony was about to start, much to everyone's excitement! Despite a few rain showers here and there, it really couldn't have been a more gorgeous day for Laura and Melinda to celebrate their love for one another. Everyone in attendance sported giant smiles (and a few tears, too) as Laura and Melinda shared their vows, promises, laughter and love with one another, cloud-encircled mountains in the ...
Danielle + Clay :: Intimate Gibson Mansion Wedding
I knew the moment that Danielle and I first started chatting on the phone that we'd have such a wonderful time working together at her intimate Gibson Mansion wedding in Missoula. And that really is such a huge understatement because she and Clay are the sweetest of people with such big hearts. They both grew up and live in Casper, Wyoming, but knew they wanted more of a destination wedding and the Gibson Mansion fit the bill perfectly for them. They love food so they celebrated their day with both a tasty brunch as well as a scrumptious dinner. Their wedding ceremony was early that morning, and, as weather this year would have it, it ...
Sammy + James :: Missoula Montana Line Ranch Wedding
I was so looking forward to documenting Sammy and James's Missoula Montana Line Ranch wedding since we had had such a fantastic time during their engagement session - and their wedding was everything I expected it would be and more! The joy and fun that permeated their day was simply intoxicating in the best way possible. We started out their day by making images of Sammy getting ready at her parents' house. Once ready to go, Sammy and James had a private first look, and then it was time to start making portraits! We all jumped aboard the bus and made our way downtown to some of Sammy's favorite spots from her time growing up in ...
