I joined the Bertrand family at the Paws Up Ranch just outside of Missoula for a little trek across the grounds to make some family photos for them while they were visiting Montana from Georgia. Golden Grasses and Sun-Kissed Love – {Pauline and Kevin’s Missoula Wedding}
When I first talked with Kevin and Pauline over the phone together, I could tell these two are a perfect pair. So sweet, so kind and so full of love for one another. To see this in person was absolutely beautiful, as they both were positively glowing throughout their ceremony, sneaking smiles and loving glances at one another as they vowed their hearts to one another for eternity. Splish Splashing! – {The Chandler’s Flathead Lake Family Session}
Could there be anything better than spending time on Flathead Lake? I'm pretty sure that the lake is a recipe for paradise. And the Chandler family enjoys a piece of this every summer at their family's Flathead Lake cabin. I met up with them there to document their 7-month-old daughter, Marianne's, first time at the lake, and make some fun images of them hanging out and doing their thing. Bright Colors and Bright Smiles – {Rebecca’s Class of 2013 Senior Session}
Rebecca, her mom and I met up the other day to take advantage of some great light and have a blast making photos for Rebecca's senior year at Hellgate High School in Missoula. Rebecca is big into music, and really loves the piano (a girl after my own heart! I love the piano too), so we incorporated that into our shoot. She's also a fan of swings, the outdoors, and bright colors, and we had a great time playing around with all of these ideas and some bright color combos that popped and really highlighted her gorgeous smile and sparkling eyes. Family Fun on the Lake – {Seeley Lake 40th Anniversary Family Session}
I had such a great time the other day zipping up to Placid Lake to make portraits for this lovely family celebrating their mom and dad's 40th anniversary. Love Under the Big Sky – {Molly and Andy’s Grey Wolf Ranch Wedding}
The Big Sky state was in full-on awesome mode for Molly and Andy's gorgeous Montana wedding near Placid Lake. Fluffy clouds rolled on through the blue sky, the sun shined down brilliantly and Montana seemed to be celebrating Molly and Andy's wedding day just as much as they and their friends and family were. Guests sipped on drinks from their very own personalized mason jars as they witnessed Molly and Andy vowing their love to one another, tears pricked people's eyes as beautiful emotions sprang forth, and laughter was always quick to surface. Teal Jeans and Tall Boots – {Brianca and Kallista’s Missoula Fashion Session}
So it kind of feels like it's been raining forever here in Missoula. Which, even though it can irk me, I'm thankful for, since hopefully it keeps the fires at bay over the summer. Loving the Light – {Joelle’s Missoula Fashion Model Session}
I love light. And I love that Joelle and I got to really play around with it during our latest Missoula fashion session. The weather couldn't have been better - a balmy 87 degrees (in April of all things!), a slight breeze, topped off with a drop-dead-gorgeous sunset. That's definitely the recipe for a sweet session. And, of course, Joelle was brilliant, too. :) P.S. If you've got a dress you want to rock like Joelle did, let me know! These types of sessions are a blast and a great way to show off that prom dress or wedding dress! And I'm sure Joelle can attest to that, too. Fashion Forward – {Joelle’s Missoula Fashion Model Session}
So I love color. Especially bright colors. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. And I admittedly get beyond excited when I have the opportunity to have fun playing around with it. For Joelle's model shoot we styled her wardrobe to contain little pops of color and interest - from fire engine red skinny jeans, to bright bags, to a super fun animal print coat and a red and purple clutch. The light also happened to be deliciously awesome during our shoot (after a few weeks of reschedules due to rain, rain, rain), and I had fun working with it - both on its softer side, and more on its harsh, shadowy side.
